Accounting and Finance Manager (Luxury Motorsports), Osaka

Key Responsibilities:

• Accounting Operations:
  • Manage all aspects of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in compliance with Japanese accounting standards (J-GAAP) or IFRS, as applicable.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and treasury functions.
• Financial Reporting & Compliance:
  • Prepare comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow Statement).
  • Ensure compliance with Japanese tax laws, corporate regulations, and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and legal counsel.
• Budgetary Control & Cost Management:
  • Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, analyzing variances.
  • Implement strong internal controls and segregation of duties to safeguard company assets.
  • Drive cost optimization initiatives across departments.
• Team Leadership & Development:
  • Potential to build and lead a finance team as the company grows.
  • Provide financial guidance to other departments and management.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or equivalent qualification preferred.
• Experience:
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience.
  • Proven track record in establishing financial operations, ideally in a new or growing company.
  • Strong knowledge of J-GAAP and Japanese tax regulations.
• Skills:
  • Proficiency in financial software (Xero experience a plus).
  • Advanced Excel skills for modeling and analysis.
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
  • Fluency in Japanese and English (written and spoken).

Bonus Qualifications:

• Experience in automotive/motorsports.
• Knowledge of IFRS or Japanese corporate governance.
