A Brief Overview
The Accounting Analyst supports the Southeast Asia (“SEA”) Finance Associate Director in delivering accurate, timely, and well‑controlled financial reporting for SEA business operations. The role partners closely with SEA Finance, Valuation, Administration, and Regional teams to ensure strong financial governance, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement in reporting and operational processes.

What you will do

Financial Reporting & Controls

  • Perform accounting and financial reporting for Southeast Asia, including Malaysia and Singapore legal entities under IFRS, as well as SEA Business Unit management reporting under US GAAP.
  • Ensure robust accounting controls, financial integrity, and adherence to RGA accounting policies and practices across all reporting activities.
  • Support and ensure SOX compliance for the SEA region.
  • Assist with quarterly and annual submissions to regulators and tax authorities.
  • Execute month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close activities, including but not limited to:
    • Preparation and review of journal entries
    • Balance sheet reconciliations and analytical reviews
    • Validation and analysis of financial results
    • Supporting Finance Manager / Associate Director in the preparation of management reports

Process Improvement & Stakeholder Management

  • Identify, propose, and support enhancements and automation initiatives to improve financial reporting and management systems.
  • Liaise cross‑functionally with Valuation, Administration, Regional Finance, and external stakeholders/clients on finance‑related matters.
  • Support treasury activities, internal and external audits, tax reporting, and other ad‑hoc reporting requests as required.
  • Perform additional Finance duties aligned with business needs and as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, or audit.
  • Fresh graduates can be considered.
  • Professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CA) or active progress toward qualification is preferred.
  • Prior exposure to the insurance industry is an advantage, though not mandatory.
  • High level of personal accountability, integrity, and ownership.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey financial information clearly and effectively to diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (advanced skills preferred).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Demonstrates flexibility, initiative, and a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem‑solving abilities, and attention to detail.
