Job Description

Convermat is a U.S.-based company looking for a dependable accounting professional to support its finance operations across daily transactions, month-end work, and stakeholder communication. This is a full-time remote accounting role for someone who is ready to take ownership of accurate daily accounting work. Around 60% of your time will focus on transactional accounting, including AP, AR, reconciliations, and journal entries. You will work closely with the U.S. finance team in English while communicating with Mexican stakeholders in Spanish. This is a strong fit for someone who values consistency and enjoys being trusted to complete assigned work without constant supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Process daily Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions accurately and on time
  • Prepare and post journal entries with proper support and attention to detail
  • Complete bank reconciliations and account reconciliations to help keep financial records clean
  • Support month-end close activities by completing assigned schedules, entries, and follow-ups
  • Identify, investigate, and help resolve discrepancies in transactions, balances, and supporting documentation
  • Assist the U.S. finance team with financial reporting support and routine accounting analysis
  • Communicate clearly in English with U.S. stakeholders and in Spanish with Mexican stakeholders
  • Maintain organized records and follow established accounting processes within the client’s remote desktop environment
  • Proactively flag issues, missing information, or process gaps before they delay accounting timelines
  • Cross-train on related accounting tasks to support a lean finance team and reduce bottlenecks

Requirements

Must-Have:

  • 2 to 3 years of accounting experience, ideally with a strong transactional accounting foundation
  • Professional working proficiency in both Spanish and English
  • Hands-on experience with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, journal entries, and bank reconciliations
  • Exposure to month-end close activities and the ability to complete assigned tasks independently
  • Clear understanding of U.S. GAAP principles
  • Intermediate Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP or XLOOKUP, and reconciliation work

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP or a similar desktop ERP system
  • Prior experience supporting a U.S.-based finance or accounting team
  • Dual-monitor home office setup
  • Experience working through remote desktop software
  • Long-term contractor experience with a strong record of reliability and low turnover
