Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related function with business partnership in a public accounting or multinational company setting.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA).
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (i.e. SAP).
  • Ability to work with cross-functional and international teams and to surface and resolve conflicts.
  • Ability to grow in a demanding, fast-paced environment with a high degree of deadline-driven productivity and prioritize initiatives with an agile mindset.
  • Excellent investigative skills with the ability to adapt to data queries (i.e., SQL), reporting, presentation and visualization.
  • Excellent problem-solving, business judgment skills with the ability to communicate effectively with executive management.

Our team performs the finance controllership function for the Platforms and Ecosystems Product Area (Android Ecosystem including Google Play and ChromeOS, Photos and Google one Subscription etc) for the APAC region. We are trusted advisors to the business and provide financial risk management support across new business models, product launches and geo expansions, commercial deals, go-to-market initiatives, accounting and finance operations, and compliance. We leverage our deep business and product knowledge and finance controllership expertise to enable business growth in the APAC region while ensuring financial accuracy and regulatory compliance.

In this role, you will be a key player on both the global Platforms and Ecosystems Business Controllership and APAC Controllership Finance team. You will partner closely with the business and cross-functional teams both regionally and globally (e.g., Product, Global Partnerships, Engineering, Legal, Tax, Treasury, Operations etc.). You will also drive cross-finance collaboration to support both finance and business-led initiatives, and implement and continually look to improve existing processes.The name Google came from "googol," a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. Responsibilities

  • Take ownership and accountability for accuracy and timeliness of APAC period close activities, accounting processes, and financial reporting for Platforms and Ecosystems (P&E) products and services in APAC (e.g., Google Play).
  • Structure and run data reports, and perform analysis to support tax and statutory audit requests and regulatory submissions associated with P&E products and services in APAC.
  • Identify, propose and implement process improvements and AI-enabled automations that enhance efficiencies/scalability for continued operational excellence.
  • Act as the first point of contact to support business stakeholders and partners in issue escalation and resolutions regarding controllership. Manage approval of commercial agreements and provide advisory to stakeholders to influence agreement structures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional regional and global teams to lead finance diligence, readiness, providing product and jurisdictional expertise to enable successful launch and operationalization of P&E products.
