
Montgomery College has an immediate need for a full-time Accountant III at the Central Services location in Rockville, Maryland. The work schedule is 40 hours a week, Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. This is a Non-Bargaining, Exempt, grade 29 position. For non-exempt positions, you are not eligible to work a secondary job at Montgomery College. With minimal supervision, the incumbent in this position performs in-depth professional and specialized accounting work, including auditing, analyzing, maintaining, and verifying fiscal records and reports, preparing financial audit reports, and reconciling general ledger accounts.
This accounting work requires an advanced understanding and skillful application of complex accounting principles and practices. Independent work is required to resolve a wide range of complex problems.
Contacts include staff and administrators across the organization, as well as external governmental entities and auditors to ensure proper preparation and reporting of all accounting activities and the administration of grants and contracts. An understanding and application of complex Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) regulations and Grant Uniform Guidance practices is required to ensure accurate and compliant financial records.
Hiring Range: $72,455 - $94,203 per year. Initial salary placement for new hires falls between the minimum and midpoint of the range and is based on relevant candidate experience and internal equity. The maximum salary for this position is $115,951 per year.
