Your Specific Responsibilities:
The incumbent in this position provides accounting services for preparation of the daily deposit, tracking and posting of payments received by the Bureau of Public Health Laboratories. This includes knowledge of the Accounts Receivable procedures, HPlusPro billing system protocols and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel computer applications.
Verify and reconcile checks and cash received from the mail log for Jacksonville, Tampa, and Miami Laboratories. Prepare deposit slips including chain of custody documents for daily pick up by armored car services. Serves as backup for daily mail log in Access.
Process DOH form 1543 for all daily deposits. Ensure the appropriate FLAIR codes including organization code, expansion option (EO), OCA (Other cost accumulator) and revenue object codes are utilized. Maintain subsidiary ledgers on all payments and prepare monthly reports on account receivable activity.
Post payments and account adjustments for water, private and community-based organizations invoices into the HPlusPro billing system. Identify and reconcile payment issues and discrepancies with the Billing section or clients as required.
Compile daily Denial and Revenue Numbers Summary Report on alternating bi-weekly schedule. Works with other team members to obtain necessary information and ensure accuracy and completeness of data.
Reconcile daily deposits (TR30) and correcting entries (TR96) in FIS (Financial Information System). Correspond with Revenue Management in Tallahassee as needed. Escalate issues to management in a timely manner. Prepare journal transfers as required.
Provides backup to the Porter Lobby, maintaining filing system, answering the telephone, responding to client issues, and assisting with special projects as assigned by management.
Perform other duties as required.
