The Role

The purpose of the Accountant is to ensure that timely and accurate financial control and external reporting requirements of Insignia super funds are delivered to management and regulators within agreed timeframes and conform to best practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare general ledger reconciliations.

  • Prepare APRA returns in a timely manner.

  • Make fund level payments

  • All work papers are prepared in accordance with Insignia accounting and tax policies and best practice.

  • Assist with Management and Board reporting to ensure they are prepared accurately and within agreed deadlines

  • Ensuring compliance requirements are met, the provision of accurate reporting and to enable required control mechanisms.

  • Maintain accounting files, update various documents and spreadsheets and databases when and as required

  • Proactive engagement with the external audit process as required

  • Prepare financial statements for entities at year end and when required

  • Provide accounting support, analysis and investigation for new standards or projects

To Be Successful in This Role You Will Possess:

  • Degree Qualified or high level of industry operational experience

  • CA/CPA qualification or progression towards

  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft office products

  • Experience in funds management / financial services industry desirable

  • Positive attitude with ability to be flexible and work well with team

  • Client service skills and client first thinking

  • Familiarity with financial regulations

  • Ability to network and stay informed about industry trends

  • Ability to develop detailed financial documentation and craft/edit documents while ensuring accuracy

  • Ability to critically assess processes and develop better and more efficient practices

  • Proficiency in tools including MS Excel and PPT

  • Ability to use data analytics tools such as power query and power BI would be an advantage
