Accountant - Financial Services

A leading, financial services firm is seeking an Accountant to support accounting processes related to financial reporting and transactions. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to track, reconcile, and analyze financial data. This is a dynamic position that will challenge you to think critically and proactively enhance efficiencies.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the monthly accounting close for one or more entities, including reconciliations, variance analyses, and journal entries.
• Record daily transactions such as fund transfers and operational activity.
• Support monthly P&L reporting processes.
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data and balance sheet accounts.
• Identify and explain data anomalies while maintaining proper documentation.
• Assist with external audits, tax filings, and compliance matters.
• Identify process inefficiencies and help implement automation solutions.
• Handle ad hoc projects as assigned by managers and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
• 3+ years of public accounting experience (supporting financial services clients)
• CPA preferred
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and documentation skills
• Strong communication and relationship-building abilities
