We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant / Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial operations and ensure accurate, timely reporting across the business. This role will own core bookkeeping and reconciliation activities and support monthly P&L reporting, with a strong emphasis on eCommerce revenue streams and marketing spend.

The ideal candidate has experience working with digital-first or eCommerce businesses, understands how online sales channels integrate with accounting systems, and is passionate about maintaining clean, well-organized financial data that supports informed decision-making and sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and financial recordkeeping using QuickBooks or a similar accounting system.

Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and payment processors (e.g., Shopify, PayPal, Stripe, Amazon, TikTok Shop).

Maintain accurate classification of expenses, cost of goods sold (COGS), and marketing spend.

Support the preparation of monthly P&L statements, cash flow reports, and internal management dashboards.

Track invoices, payments, and reimbursements; ensure timely payments to vendors, contractors, and partners.

Collaborate with operations and marketing teams to align financial data with internal dashboards and performance reporting.

Assist with month-end and year-end close processes and support CPAs or tax preparers with clean, well-documented records.

Identify opportunities to improve processes and automate reporting where possible.

Requirements

    • 3+ years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping, ideally within eCommerce, DTC, or small business environments.
    • Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online, Excel/Google Sheets, and general accounting principles.
    • Experience reconciling transaction data from platforms such as Shopify, Amazon, or TikTok Shop.
    • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Clear communicator who can present financial information simply and accurately.
    • Self-starter comfortable managing recurring deliverables and deadlines independently.
  • Bonus Points
    • Familiarity with inventory accounting and COGS tracking.
    • Experience with financial modeling, contribution margin analysis, or budget-to-actual tracking.
    • Background supporting small teams or startups where processes are still evolving.
    • A genuine love of reading—especially fantasy or romantasy.
