Accountant: Accounts Payable

Parow Industria, Cape Town | Office Based

Salary: R380,000 – R400,000 Total Cost to Company per annum

An established organisation is looking for a detail-oriented Accountant: Accounts Payable to join its finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering accurate, timely financial processing.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  Manage the full accounts payable process from invoice receipt through to payment.
• 
  Process supplier invoices, reconciliations, accruals and prepayments.
• 
  Resolve supplier queries and payment discrepancies.
• 
  Maintain supplier records and payment documentation.
• 
  Process employee expense claims and company credit card reconciliations.
• 
  Assist with VAT and tax compliance.
• 
  Complete month-end accounts payable reconciliations and reporting.
• 
  Prepare AP ageing reports, cash flow forecasts and other financial reports.
• 
  Support the finance team with ad hoc reporting and analysis.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting

2–3 years' experience in an Accounts Payable Accountant role

Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS)

Sound knowledge of VAT and tax regulations

Experience working with ERP systems

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills

Previous supervisory experience will be advantageous
