ABOUT THE ROLE An established company in Edenvale is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join its finance team. The successful candidate will maintain the integrity of the company's financial records, ensure compliance with IFRS and statutory requirements, and provide accurate financial reporting and analysis to support strategic business decisions. The role suits a proactive finance professional with strong technical accounting expertise, sound commercial acumen, and experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial controls and fixed asset management. Knowledge of import and export financial processes and regulatory requirements is essential. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Prepare and manage monthly financial reporting and month-end processes • Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts and financial plans • Perform financial analysis and provide insights into business performance • Ensure compliance with IFRS, financial regulations and corporate governance requirements • Maintain and strengthen internal financial controls and risk management processes • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accurate financial records • Manage fixed asset accounting, depreciation schedules and capital expenditure reporting • Support external audits and statutory reporting requirements • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on financial matters • Manage accounting records and transactions on Sage One Accounting • Monitor and support import and export financial processes and regulatory compliance • Identify opportunities for process improvement and greater financial efficiency Requirements MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Qualifications • Relevant Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent • Completed SAICA Articles (advantageous) Experience • Minimum 3 years' relevant accounting experience in a financial reporting or finance environment • Experience working on Sage One Accounting • Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and reconciliations • Exposure to fixed asset accounting and financial controls • Experience with import and export regulations and procedures (essential) KEY COMPETENCIES • Financial Reporting and Analysis • Budgeting and Forecasting • IFRS Knowledge and Compliance • Financial Planning and Interpretation • Fixed Asset Accounting • Balance Sheet Reconciliations • Financial Controls and Governance • Sage One Accounting Systems • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills • Strong Communication and Stakeholder Management • Planning and Organisational Skills • Attention to Detail and Accuracy IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE A hands-on accountant who combines strong technical accounting expertise with commercial awareness.
