Job Description

Senior Accountant

Location: Cincinnati (metro-area)

Work Arrangement: Hybrid

Compensation: $95,000–$105,000, based on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Support month-end close and preparation of timely, accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare financial and operational reporting, variance analyses, and related management insights.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and other financial records.
  • Prepare and manage accruals, adjustments, and recurring accounting entries.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
  • Assist with payroll administration, payroll accounting, and employee-benefit-related financial processes.
  • Maintain accurate vendor and customer financial records and onboarding information.
  • Support sales tax administration, reporting, and compliance.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax requirements, and internal policies.
  • Help maintain and strengthen financial controls and accounting procedures.
  • Partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to improve financial reporting and business processes.
  • Assist with accounting-system improvements, implementations, and other technology initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to automate and streamline accounting processes using existing and emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools.
  • Validate financial data, investigate discrepancies, and implement appropriate corrective measures.
  • Help develop scalable financial processes and systems capable of supporting continued organic growth and potential acquisitions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Seven (7) or more years of progressive, hands-on accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting.
  • Experience with QuickBooks or comparable accounting/ERP platforms.
  • Experience with payroll systems and payroll administration.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet financial reporting deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with leadership, employees, customers, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Experience in a growing project-based, service, industrial, construction, or manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Experience improving accounting processes or implementing automation and technology tools is preferred.
  • Spanish/English bilingual capabilities are a plus.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and satisfy applicable pre-employment screening requirements.

Compensation & Benefits

The anticipated base salary range is $95,000–$105,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
