What we do at Weir
We are a global leader in mining technology for a sustainable future. We help our customers extract the resources the world needs more efficiently and more sustainably. Our planet’s future depends on the transition to renewable energy, and that transition can only happen with the metals and minerals our customers deliver. So, we work side by side with mines across the globe to move less rock, use less energy, use water wisely, and create less waste. Together, we drive the shift to smart, efficient, and more sustainable mining.

Make your impact
You’ll play a key role in solving real-world challenges. You’ll apply your skills to deliver results that matter whether that’s through engineering, planning or customer support. You’ll work with purpose, learn every day and help shape a more sustainable future.

What you’ll do
• Management Accounts: Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts for multiple legal entities across EU countries (Czechia, Finland, Poland, Sweden). Analyse variances and provide insightful commentary to support effective decision-making.
• Compliance & Controls: Maintain a strong internal control environment ensuring full compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and accounting standards (local and IFRS). Drive process improvements to strengthen financial governance.
• Balance Sheet Ownership: Fully own and reconcile the balance sheet monthly, performing reviews and following up on outstanding items to ensure balance sheet integrity.
• Month-End Process Management: Lead and coordinate end-to-end month-end close activities, working cross-functionally to meet deadlines and quality standards. Improve the close process through automation and standardisation.
• Accrual Management: Review, calculate, and post accruals with clear documentation, challenging inaccurate estimates to maintain accuracy.
• Audits – External & Internal: Act as the primary contact for auditors, prepare audit schedules, respond to queries, and support audit readiness and statutory audit processes.
• Intercompany Accounting: Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations, ensuring accurate posting, settlement, elimination, and resolution of discrepancies.
• Process Improvement & Standardisation: Drive harmonisation and standardisation of accounting processes across the business (R2R, P2P, OTC). Act as a Subject Matter Expert for SAP, accounting standards, and group policies. Support financial system upgrades and implementation projects.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with Finance Centres of Excellence, Regional Finance Directors, Financial Directors, Commercial Finance teams, Statutory Finance teams, and Group Functional Leaders to ensure transparency and operational excellence.
• Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.

What you’ll bring

Must-haves:
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent vocational qualification.
• Solid SAP FI knowledge and strong Excel capability.
• Experience in management accounting, financial reporting, month-end close, balance sheet ownership, and audit preparation.
• Proficiency in English at C1 level; Spanish is a plus but not mandatory.

Nice-to-haves:
• Experience working in large or regional roles managing multiple countries or legal entities.
• Knowledge of local and IFRS accounting standards.
• Experience with intercompany accounting and financial controls.
