Job Title – Accountant
Location: Dubai, UAE

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, reconciliations, VAT compliance, payables, receivables, and cash-flow activities. The role will support the finance function of a growing trading and renewable-energy business dealing in solar panels, batteries, inverters, and related electrical products across the UAE and international markets.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Operations

• 
  Manage day-to-day accounting transactions and maintain accurate financial records.
• 
  Prepare journal entries, general ledger postings, and account reconciliations.
• 
  Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
• 
  Prepare monthly financial statements, MIS reports, and management summaries.
• 
  Ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting records.

Accounts Payable & Receivable

• 
  Manage supplier invoices, payment processing, and vendor reconciliations.
• 
  Prepare customer invoices and monitor outstanding receivables.
• 
  Follow up on overdue customer payments and support collection activities.
• 
  Reconcile supplier and customer statements and resolve discrepancies.
• 
  Coordinate with sales, procurement, logistics, and warehouse teams on transaction-related matters.

Bank & Cash Management

• 
  Perform regular bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• 
  Maintain petty cash records and supporting documentation.
• 
  Monitor cash inflows and outflows and assist with cash-flow forecasting.
• 
  Prepare payment schedules and supporting documents for management approval.

VAT & Compliance

• 
  Prepare VAT workings, schedules, and supporting documentation.
• 
  Ensure accounting transactions are recorded correctly for UAE VAT purposes.
• 
  Support VAT return preparation and filing.
• 
  Maintain appropriate tax documentation and records.
• 
  Coordinate with auditors and external tax consultants when required.

Inventory & Trading Accounting

• 
  Reconcile inventory records with accounting records and warehouse data.
• 
  Monitor inventory-related transactions, purchases, sales, and stock adjustments.
• 
  Assist with landed-cost calculations and inventory valuation.
• 
  Analyze inventory variances and coordinate with warehouse and procurement teams to resolve discrepancies.
• 
  Support accounting for imported and exported goods and related logistics costs.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

• 
  Prepare monthly P&L, balance sheet, cash-flow, and other financial reports.
• 
  Conduct budget-versus-actual and variance analysis.
• 
  Monitor gross margins, operating expenses, and key financial indicators.
• 
  Provide financial information and analysis to management to support decision-making.
• 
  Identify unusual transactions, cost variances, and financial risks.

Audit & Internal Controls

• 
  Coordinate statutory, internal, and external audit requirements.
• 
  Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation.
• 
  Maintain proper financial filing and documentation.
• 
  Strengthen accounting controls and ensure compliance with internal finance procedures.
• 
  Identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.

ERP & Process Improvement

• 
  Record and maintain financial transactions within ERP/accounting systems.
• 
  Ensure accurate integration between sales, purchasing, inventory, and finance records.
• 
  Improve reconciliation, reporting, and documentation processes.
• 
  Support automation and digitalization initiatives within the finance function.

Qualifications & Experience

• 
  Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
• 3–6 years of accounting experience, preferably within UAE trading, distribution, electronics, solar, electrical, or renewable-energy businesses.
• 
  Strong knowledge of UAE VAT and accounting practices.
• 
  Experience handling inventory accounting and trading transactions is highly preferred.
• 
  Experience with ERP/accounting software and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• 
  UAE accounting experience is preferred.
