Curries (an ASSA ABLOY company) is adding an Accountant to our team. This is onsite role based at our manufacturing facility located in Mason City, Iowa.

What would you do as our Accountant?

In this role, you will help to support all day-to-day accounting, planning, reporting, systems and controls to accurately reflect the plant finances. You will help to prepare and review information to perform monthly financial statements and costing to ensure the financial integrity of the plant’s operations.

You would also:

  • Prepare financial information, analysis and costing to support the team

  • Assist in timely completion of month-end financial close

  • Provide accurate preparation of journal entries to record manufacturing cost and inventory valuations

  • Prepare and analyze various reports, as required or directed, relating to the financial performance of the manufacturing efforts

  • Perform special cost analyses as requested by management

  • Participate in preparing recurring estimates of revenue and expenses

  • Recommend modifications to improve cost accounting techniques and methods

  • Develop definitions and criteria regarding cost and budget philosophy for the proper definition and accurate tracking of manufacturing costs

  • Cross train on various other areas within the accounting department

  • Participate in a safe and harmonious working environment

  • Assure compliance with federal, state, local and corporate policies, regulations, AADG programs and policies and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct

  • Other projects and assignments, as needed

The Skills and Experience you need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

  • 3 - 5 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools and understanding of interrelationships of accounting, payables, payroll and data processing

  • Thorough knowledge of applicable accounting and financial statement preparation methods

  • Excellent communication and time management skills

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize projects under tight time deadlines

  • Comfortable utilizing Excel (advanced skills), Accounting systems and an ERP system

  • Previous working knowledge of SAP is a plus
