We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Accountant to oversee end-to-end operational accounting, financial reporting, and compliance for our client's chemical manufacturing division. This role requires an individual with a strong manufacturing background and professional qualification to manage accounting activities, maintain system reliability, drive working capital efficiency, and lead a small team.
Manage and oversee the full spectrum of accounting functions, ensuring data integrity from daily entries to monthly and annual closing.
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, and board papers for internal and external stakeholders.
Ensure all financial reporting adheres to approved Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), the Companies Act, and Bursa Malaysia guidelines.
Lead the formulation of the Annual Budget Review (ABR), mid-year budget revisions, and strategic financial projections.
Maintain the reliability, accuracy, and operational integrity of the SAP accounting system.
Act as the primary liaison and coordinator for both internal and external auditing processes.
Monitor and optimize trade working capital and spearhead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance cash flow efficiency.
Oversee corporate tax compliance, manage tax filings, and prepare mandatory transfer pricing documentation.
Supervise, mentor, and evaluate the performance of junior finance team members, identifying skill gaps to support their professional growth.
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or an equivalent professional degree.
Must possess a recognized Professional Accounting Qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, or MIA membership).
Minimum of 5 years of operational accounting experience;
a strong background in the manufacturing sector is mandatory.
Must have hands-on familiarity and working proficiency with the SAP ERP system.
Comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and Malaysian Income Tax Laws/Practices.
Computer literate with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (particularly MS Excel).
Proven leadership and people management skills with experience in supervising subordinates.
