Job Description

Our client is seeking to recruit an Accountant to join their growing team in Malta. The role offers a mix of external audit and client accounting responsibilities, providing exposure to a diverse portfolio of clients across various industries. The position is client-facing and offers excellent opportunities for professional growth and development. Both junior and senior candidates will be considered depending on experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting with or leading external audit engagements for a portfolio of clients

• Preparing financial statements in line with applicable accounting standards

• Handling bookkeeping, management accounts, VAT returns, and other accounting-related tasks

• Liaising directly with clients on audit and accounting matters

• Supporting clients with day-to-day financial and compliance requirements

• Ensuring assignments are completed within agreed deadlines and professional standards

• Collaborating with internal teams to deliver a high level of client service

• Keeping up to date with accounting, audit, and regulatory developments

Requirements

• Previous experience in audit, accounting, or a similar role

• Ability to work in a client-facing environment and build professional relationships

• Fluent in both English and Maltese

• Ideally fully qualified or in the process of obtaining an accounting qualification

• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Proactive, professional, and team-oriented approach
