About the role

The Accountant role supports accurate financial reporting, month-end close activities, statutory compliance, and management reporting. This role works closely with senior finance team members to ensure accounting accuracy, strong controls, and timely financial information to support business operations.

Responsibility

Accounting Operations

  • Manages day-to-day financial transactions, ensures accurate general ledger coding, reconciles bank/vendor accounts, resolving discrepancies.
  • Accurately allocate expenses to specific cost centres, projects, or departments to support management reporting and budget variance analysis.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Support the month-end close process, including balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, provisions, and P&L variance analysis.
  • Ensure consistency, accuracy, and data integrity to support reporting and analysis.

Statutory Reporting & Compliance

  • Assist in the preparation of annual statutory financial statements and audit workpapers.
  • Support external audit processes by preparing schedules and responding to audit queries.
  • Assist with tax compliance requirements and preparation of returns under guidance from senior team members.
  • Coordinate with auditors, tax agents, internal stakeholders, and external service providers as required.

Management Reporting & FPA Support

  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports.
  • Support Reporting & FP&A processes by preparing data, schedules, and analysis.
  • Assist with basic financial modelling, scenario analysis, and cost analysis for business initiatives.
  • Provide financial analysis to support performance tracking and decision-making.

P rocess Improvement & Controls

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across accounting processes, systems, and reporting tools.
  • Assist with enhancements to reporting templates, automation, and standardisation efforts.
  • Follow established internal controls and contribute to strengthening financial governance.

Requirements

Skills & Qualifications

  • Tertiary Degree in Business or Commerce with Accounting Major or similar
  • 2+ years of accounting or audit experience.
  • CPA/CA qualified / study towards.
  • Firm mover is welcome.
  • Strong Excel skills, high attention to detail, and proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Xero).
  • Additional experience in data automation tools (e.g. Power BI) is an advantage.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team, across functional teams and independently with guidance.
  • Proactive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Mandarin fluency is desirable.
  • Experiences with the financial service industry would be a plus.
