About the Job:

We are looking for a CA or CPA-qualified accountant with around five years of experience to join our Sydney finance team. This is a newly created role and a broad, hands-on position covering day-to-day accounting, statutory reporting, and tax compliance. You will work closely with the local finance team and gain genuine exposure to digital asset accounting in a regulated, fast-moving environment. It is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in the fintech or crypto sector.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assist with month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and preparation of working papers
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and manage the fixed asset register
• Support the preparation of statutory financial statements in accordance with AASB / IFRS
• Assist with BAS, GST, FBT, and income tax compliance in coordination with external tax advisors
• Perform daily and monthly reconciliation of fiat and digital asset accounts
• Assist with the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and preparing audit support schedules
• Contribute to continuous improvement of finance processes, controls, and system workflows
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required by the Financial Controller and CFO

Experience and Skills we are looking for:

• CA or CPA qualified (or in the final stages of qualification)
• Approximately 5 years of accounting experience, ideally including time in public practice (Big 4 or mid-tier)
• Solid working knowledge of AASB / IFRS and Australian tax obligations (GST, income tax, FBT)
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to reconciliations and reporting
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a small team
• Genuine interest in cryptocurrency, digital assets, or fintech

Desirable but not essential:

• Prior experience in financial services, fintech, or a regulated environment
• Exposure to digital asset or crypto accounting (on-chain reconciliation, token treatment)
• Advanced Excel or data skills
