The Role and Impact
This role within Chief Accounting Office partners across Finance to ensure high-quality accounting, controllership, and financial reporting for treasury-related activities worldwide. The team supports accurate US GAAP-compliant accounting, strong internal controls, and timely reporting for foreign currency exposures, balance sheet hedging, cash management, investments, and related treasury operations.
This organization works closely with Corporate Treasury, Accounting Policy, External Reporting, Corporate Planning, Tax, shared service teams, and business finance teams to ensure treasury activities are appropriately reflected in the financial statements and supported by scalable, well-controlled processes.
This role is responsible for supporting the accounting, reporting, controllership, and process execution for foreign currency and balance sheet hedging activities. This role focuses on the accounting and operational support associated with foreign currency exposures, derivative activity, balance sheet hedging programs, hedge documentation support, period-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting deliverables. This position partners closely with Corporate Treasury, Accounting Policy, External Reporting, Tax, Corporate Planning, system teams, shared services, and auditors to ensure treasury accounting is accurate, timely, compliant, and supported by strong internal controls.
Key Responsibilities :
- Support the accounting and reporting for foreign currency exposures and balance sheet hedging programs.
- Prepare and maintain accounting schedules, journal entries, reconciliations, and roll forwards related to foreign exchange and hedging activity.
- Assist in accounting analysis for derivative instruments, remeasurement impacts, hedge-related balances, and offsetting entries associated with treasury risk management programs.
- Support period-end accounting for treasury-related gains, losses, and balance sheet impacts arising from foreign currency movements and hedging activities.
- Help ensure accounting outcomes are recorded accurately and timely in accordance with US GAAP, company policy, and internal treasury accounting procedures.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities related to treasury accounting, including foreign currency and balance sheet hedge-related workstreams.
- Prepare account reconciliations, variance analysis, reporting schedules, and supporting workpapers tied to treasury balances and hedge activity.
- Assist with financial reporting support, including disclosures, tie-outs, and schedules used in internal and external reporting.
- Help investigate and resolve unusual items, balance fluctuations, reconciling items, and period-end issues affecting treasury accounting results.
- Partner with Treasury and Accounting Policy to help ensure accounting treatment aligns with transaction intent, program design, and applicable guidance.
- Assist with data gathering and validation for hedge designation support, hedge tracking, and effectiveness-related process support where required.
- Support SOX compliance, control testing, audit requests, walkthroughs, and remediation follow-up related to foreign currency and hedging accounting processes.
- Work closely with Corporate Treasury, Accounting Policy, External Reporting, Tax, Corporate Planning, business finance teams, and shared service partners to support accurate accounting and reporting outcomes.
- Help translate treasury transactions and risk management activities into appropriate accounting and disclosure treatment.
- Support issue resolution by coordinating across stakeholders to address process gaps, data issues, timing differences, and reporting questions.
- Partner effectively across matrixed teams to support recurring close, forecast, and reporting deadlines.
- Use AI and digital tools to improve the efficiency, quality, and scalability of recurring activities such as reconciliations, variance analysis, data validation, journal entry support, documentation management, and reporting preparation.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or Masters Degree.
- Proficiency in accounting principles and standards, including IFRS and US GAAP.
- Experience with monthly, quarterly, or annual close activities, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting support.
- Demonstrated expertise in financial systems such as SAP S4, SQL querying, and Power BI.
- Knowledge of SOX compliance and cost accounting policies.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in a global organization, with a focus on accounting or audit.
- Certification in accounting (ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, MICPA, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience supporting foreign currency accounting, treasury accounting, derivative accounting, or balance sheet hedging.
- Familiarity with treasury-related accounting concepts such as remeasurement, derivative activity, hedge documentation support, and financial statement disclosure support.
- Experience with SOX controls, audit support, and process documentation.
- Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA or ECC, treasury management systems, subledgers, or other finance systems supporting treasury operations.
- Experience with automation, digital transformation, data analytics, AI-enabled workflow tools, or process improvement initiatives.
- Ability to evaluate recurring accounting work and identify opportunities for AI-assisted transformation while maintaining control rigor and accounting quality.
- Strong project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and in cross-functional, multicultural teams.
- Results-driven mindset with critical thinking skills to challenge the status quo and deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Experience managing complex regulatory and financial compliance matters.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and data visualization tools such as Power BI.
