Job Description

A Day in Your Life at MKS:
As an Accountant at Photon Control Inc., a subsidiary of MKS Instruments, Inc., you will be responsible for supporting the day to day financial operations, including the preparation of financial reports and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. You will assist with compiling and analyzing sales and expense data, as well as investigating and resolving accounting issues to support accurate and effective financial processes. In this hybrid role, you will report to the Accounting Manager.

You Will Make an Impact By:

  • Execute the comprehensive month-end closing process with precision.

  • Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

  • PPE, inventory reconciliations, treasury functions and cash forecasting.

  • Approval of AP/AR invoices and bank batches entered in the system.

  • Create accurate journal entries for adjustments and accruals.

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established standards.

  • Understanding the full cycle of accounting activities including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.

  • Ensure the confidentiality and security of all financial files.

  • Other tasks as required.


Skills You Bring:

  • 3-5 years’ experience as a full cycle accountant.
  • CPA or final stages of CPA program or comparable practical work experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Experience with multi‑currency transactions.
  • Ability to maintain continuity schedules.
  • Understanding of internal controls and control environments.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to guide and support junior team members.
  • Adaptability and comfort working outside rigid structures, with frequent ad hoc tasks.
  • Experience with intercompany transactions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience in a related job and working in a hybrid work environment.
  • General understanding of accounting practices and principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Excellent interpersonal and team working skills.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective verbal, written and listening communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with SAP, Oracle, Epicor, Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), and Power BI.

Compensation:

Salary Pay Range: $70,000 - $100,000 per year. This range is a reasonable expectation of pay for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience, education, training, operational and business needs and other considerations
