Job Title: Accountant (Hybrid| UK Accounting)

Location: (South Africa-based - Johannesburg - Hybrid)

Working Hours: 9AM - 5PM or 10AM - 6PM South African Time

Salary: R20,000 - R30,000/month (Package can be structured to include benefits such as medical aid and pension)

About the Role

Our client is growing and looking for dynamic, ambitious accountants to join their remote team. If you're passionate about delivering excellent client service, eager to develop your skills, and excited about working with UK-based clients, this opportunity could be the perfect fit.

You will initially work closely with a senior team member and gradually take ownership of your own client portfolio. The role is client-facing and involves full training on UK accounting standards and tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of UK-based clients (limited companies, sole traders, and individuals)
• Prepare and review VAT returns, year-end accounts, corporation tax, and personal tax returns
• Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements
• Spot opportunities for client growth and advisory support
• Transition into a tax planning and advisory role as experience grows
• Use cloud-based accounting software to deliver services in a fully digitized environment

Requirements

• Based in South Africa with the ability to work UK hours
• Ideally part-qualified or currently studying towards an accounting qualification
• Some accounting experience is preferred (not essential if you are an exceptional candidate)
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills (essential for UK client interaction)
• Ability to work independently and take initiative
• Comfortable working remotely and using cloud-based tools
