Job Description

Accountant

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Accountant, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Relevant degree or certification.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:

Financial Record Keeping
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers.
  • Record daily transactions from bank statements.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate balance sheet schedules on a monthly basis.
  • Monitor and maintain cash flow for individual properties.
Accounts Payable and Receivable
  • Process invoices, payments, and receipts.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on overdue accounts.
Reconciliation
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
Reporting
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and hospitality industry standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information.
Collaboration
  • Work closely with management and other departments to provide financial insights and support.
Software Utilization
  • Utilize accounting and other software (e.g., Xero, eFTSure, Dext, Mews).
  • Stay updated on new software and tools that enhance financial operations.
