We are a modern and dynamic accountancy practice that provides proactive and tailored financial services to a wide range of owner-managed businesses. As our firm continues to expand, we are seeking a capable and hands-on Accountant to join our team. This role offers the flexibility of home working while also providing a varied and engaging workload that involves cloud-based accounting systems.
You will play a key role in providing high-quality bookkeeping, VAT, and accounts preparation services to our clients. While prior experience with tax returns is desirable, it is not a requirement. Manage a diverse portfolio of clients, handling bookkeeping duties using cloud-based accounting software (e.g., Xero and Dext)
Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with Making Tax Digital (MTD) regulations
Prepare year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
Communicate with clients to gather information, resolve queries, and explain financial matters
Provide support to the senior team during client reviews and planning processes
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations
(Optional) Assist with preparing personal and corporation tax returns, if experienced
Solid experience working in an accountancy practice environment
Proficiency in cloud accounting software, like Xero (or similar)
Strong understanding of VAT, bookkeeping principles, and accounts preparation
Experience with tax returns is advantageous but not essential
Exceptional attention to detail and excellent time management skills
Strong communication skills, with a client-focused approach
