Our client is a well-established company in the property development, construction, and building industry. They are seeking a highly motivated and experienced accountant to join their headquarters and manage the financial operations for several companies within their group. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader who can help optimize their accounting processes.
We're looking for a dedicated and skilled
Accountant
to oversee the financial accounting and treasury functions for multiple companies within a larger group. You'll be responsible for ensuring all financial transactions, reporting, and statutory filings are accurate and timely. This role requires a strong leader who can manage a team, liaise with external partners, and implement new technologies to improve efficiency.
Manage the full scope of financial accounting and treasury functions for selected companies.
Monitor cash flow, liquidity planning, and funding needs, working closely with internal teams.
Ensure all accounting records are accurate and up-to-date, and that financial statements are prepared in a timely manner.
Lead the preparation of business plans, budgets, and forecasts.
Ensure compliance with the company's Standard Operating Procedures, internal controls, and all regulatory requirements, including Financial Reporting Standards and the Companies Act.
Supervise, coach, and mentor the accounts department staff to ensure work is completed efficiently.
Act as the primary contact for external auditors, tax agents, and bankers.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting efficiency by recommending and implementing new technologies and processes.
Assist management with various ad-hoc financial tasks as needed.
A recognized degree or professional qualification in accounting.
Must be a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).
Experience in the property development, construction, or building industry is preferred.
Up-to-date knowledge of the latest Financial Reporting Standards.
The ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
A positive, proactive attitude with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
High degree of integrity, maturity, and a pleasant personality.
Knowledge of IFCA/ACCWIN accounting software is a plus.
