Job Title - Accountant
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to manage day-to-day financial operations, including bookkeeping, reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting. The role supports accurate financial record-keeping, compliance, and timely reporting while ensuring smooth coordination with internal departments and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate should have strong accounting knowledge, excellent numerical skills, and prior experience within the real estate or property development sector.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations
Handle daily accounting transactions, general ledger entries, and bookkeeping activities.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
Prepare and process invoices, receipts, payment vouchers, and expense claims.
Reconciliation & Reporting
Perform bank, supplier, and customer account reconciliations.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
Budgeting & Cost Control
Assist in preparing project budgets and monitoring expenses against allocated costs.
Track financial performance of ongoing development projects and highlight variances.
Support cost analysis and reporting for management review.
Compliance & Documentation
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, VAT regulations, and internal financial policies.
Maintain organised and accurate financial records and documentation.
Coordinate with auditors during internal and external audits.
Coordination & Support
Collaborate with finance, procurement, and project teams on financial processes.
Assist in preparing financial statements, forecasts, and cash-flow reports.
Support management with data analysis and ad-hoc financial tasks as required.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
36 years of experience in accounting, preferably within real estate or property development.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and VAT compliance.
Experience with accounting/ERP systems (e.g., Tally, SAP, QuickBooks, or similar).
High proficiency in MS Excel and financial analysis tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent accuracy, organisation, and time-management capabilities.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
