About This Role:
Veranex has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Accountant 2. You will be part of a team working to improve lives globally through medical technology innovation. The Accountant 2 will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date accounting records, including ledgers, journals, and financial statements. Analyses financial data to identify discrepancies, variances, and trends. Assists in month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, accruals, and adjustments. Ensures compliance with accounting standards, applicable regulatory requirements, and company policies. Prepares and analyses financial reports, including budgets, forecasts, and financial performance metrics. Works with Information Technology to ensure accounting software and systems, are accurate and functionating as expected.

What You Will Do:
• Performs regular reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts.
• Investigates and resolves discrepancies and variances in financial records.
• Prepares reconciliation reports for review by senior accounting staff.
• Assists with month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
• Assists in the preparation of financial statements, balance sheets, and profit and loss statements.
• Assists in the preparation of financial reports and summaries for management review.
• Ensures adherence to accounting principles, internal controls, and company policies.
• Conducts financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Assists with maintaining and updating accounting systems and records.
• Identifies opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies in accounting procedures.

Qualifications:
Required skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline
• 2 - 4 years of relevant work experience
• Proficiency in accounting software and applications e.g., Excel
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and best practices
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills for interacting with team members, management, and external stakeholders
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in managing financial data and transactions
• Strong ability to work in cross-functional teams

Preferred:
• In-depth knowledge of accounting concepts & finance processes
• Good in analysis, reconciliations, month end journals, accrual & prepayment concepts
• Strong in flux analysis
• Receives minimal guidance on day-today work and moderate guidance on new projects or assignments.
• Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Builds productive internal/external working relationships.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP
• Strong written and Oral communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to solve moderate to complex problems
• Strong ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and projects
