
International Card Services (ICS) brings together our International Consumer and Small & Medium Size Enterprises (SME) issuing activities, as well as our Commercial Large Market sales and account development teams. ICS issues Cards in 27 countries, and is responsible for two Joint Ventures covering around a dozen countries. The leaders in these countries are empowered to make decisions at a local level, in partnership with other local business leaders. Local teams are supported by two cross-market teams – the Centre of Excellence, and Risk & Control Management.

Who we are and what we do?
The ICS OPC/One-Phone-Channel Team Germany is part of the International Card Services organization and is based in our multicultural Hub in Madrid/Spain. Our team consists of more than 26 colleagues working for our Sales and Account Sales Teams, focused on acquiring, expanding, and retaining SME/Small & Medium Enterprise customers in the German market.
Our SBS/Small Business Account Sales Team partners with business owners in managing their finances, improving cash flow and staying in control of everyday expenses. Together, we’ll win as a team, striving to uphold our powerful backing promise to our customers and each other every day.
How you will enable our customers and our teams to achieve great results:
Manage a portfolio of premium Small Business clients with clear focus on profitable growth and long-term customer retention and expansion.
Identify client needs with American Express products and services and sell appropriate value components to create greater customer engagement.
Proactively manage an effective pipeline, identifying and prioritizing expansions to achieve and exceed profitable growth targets.
Ensuring premium value is delivered aligned with client’s goals, delivering a positive customer experience and achieves customer advocacy.
Understanding client’s needs, threats, and risks to maintain and grow sustainable relationships.
Operating effectively in a fast-paced evolving environment to collaborate and coordinate with a range of stakeholders across ICS and our Blue Box.
Manage your sales activities through the CRM tool (Salesforce) facilitating a timely and accurate reporting of all customer interactions.
What we are looking for and what you should be passionate about:
Native level in German, plus fluency in English written and spoken (our company language).
Ideally with a background having lived in Germany or worked for the German Market.
Passion for negotiating and interacting with customers (previous Sales experience is a plus).
Ambition, strong inner motivation, and challenger mindset to think creatively to identify new business opportunities (being part of the solution and execution).
High learning agility and inner motivation to keep growing and developing with your peers in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
Self-driven and results oriented with a positive mindset and a clear focus on achieving and exceeding targets and goals.
Excellent time management and organizational skills, creating and applying a structured approach to your day-to-day work responsibilities while adapting to changing circumstances.
Ability to work independently whilst also collaborating with team members in different markets to maximize individual and company performance.
Strong interpersonal and listening skills. Highly engaging communication style with ability to speak confidently with internal and external stakeholders including senior executives.
