Job Description

At Mintel, we help businesses understand people, markets, and what comes next. As a global market intelligence agency, our understanding of consumers, innovation, and global markets gives clients the clarity to act and the confidence to lead. With more than 50 years of expertise, we combine the real-world understanding of our experts with advanced technology to uncover patterns, anticipate change, and help organizations make smarter decisions.

As an Account Manager within the Strategic Partner Accounts team, you are responsible for driving client retention, growth, and value realization across a portfolio of global enterprise clients - including strategic anchor accounts, which span multiple business units, regions, and buying centers operating under a single global relationship.

This is an individual contributor role with full ownership of renewal and expansion revenue targets. You will deliver proactive, high-touch engagement, ensuring clients achieve measurable business outcomes and continue to invest in their partnership with Mintel. On the most complex accounts, this includes managing risk and opportunity independently across multiple internal client stakeholders and organizational layers, rather than a single point of contact.

You will work in close partnership with Global Account Directors and Lead Client Partners in a team-selling environment to align client value with commercial success.

This is a Hybrid position based in Sao Paulo.

Key Responsibilities:

Renewal Ownership & Commercial Performance

  • Own a defined portfolio renewal and growth target
  • Develop and execute account-specific renewal strategies based on demonstrated client value
  • Maintain accurate renewal forecasts and pipeline visibility
  • Deliver against retention and revenue expansion targets
  • Track and defend renewal health at the sub-account level (business unit / region) as well as in aggregate, since a single global relationship can mask fragmented risk within individual divisions

Contract Negotiation & Commercial Execution

  • Lead renewal and contract negotiations, including procurement engagement
  • Build and present compelling commercial narratives linked to ROI and client outcomes
  • Manage objections and position Mintel’s value effectively
  • Close renewal and expansion deals to achieve target performance
  • Navigate formalized, RFP-driven procurement processes and multi-year MSA/SOW structures typical of large, multi-divisional global organizations, including competitive vendor reviews

Growth Opportunity Identification

  • Identify upsell and consulting opportunities through structured discovery
  • Partner with Account Directors and Client Partners to convert opportunities into revenue
  • Leverage client data and engagement signals to drive account growth
  • Independently identify and coordinate opportunities that surface in different parts of the client organization (e.g., category management, innovation/R&D, e-commerce, sustainability), each with distinct insight needs and separate budget owners

Client Engagement & Adoption

  • Deliver proactive, structured engagement plans across assigned accounts
  • Facilitate training sessions and workshops to drive platform adoption
  • Build and maintain strong, multi-level stakeholder relationships
  • On accounts with layered global / regional / local structures, coordinate a consistent cadence and message across a wide network of individual contacts so the relationship stays coherent

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with internal teams (Insights, Product, Consulting, Operations) to deliver client outcomes
  • Contribute to coordinated global account strategies
  • Act as the internal orchestration point across multiple Mintel service lines engaged concurrently on different parts of the same account, ensuring internal teams present a unified front

Success in this role is evaluated through:

  • Portfolio retention rate (%)
  • Net revenue retention (NRR) / revenue growth
  • Renewal and expansion revenue achievement vs. target

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Client-focused mindset with strong understanding of enterprise client needs
  • Commercial accountability with experience owning revenue or renewal targets
  • Negotiation skills, including experience working with procurement stakeholders
  • Executive presence with ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Collaborative approach within cross-functional environments
  • Self-directed and accountable for both client and commercial outcomes
  • Excellent communication skills, adaptable across levels and regions

Experience & Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience managing enterprise or global client relationships
  • Demonstrated experience owning or contributing to renewals, revenue targets, or quota achievement
  • Experience in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
  • Proven capability in contract negotiation, objection handling, and closing deals
  • Familiarity with customer success methodologies and value-based engagement models

Equal Opportunity Employer: Race/Color/Sex/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity/Religion/National Origin/Disability/Vets

About Mintel

Market Intelligence is what sets us apart and what defines us as a brand – literally in fact: when the company was founded in 1972 it took its name from an amalgamation of the two words. We have been defining and refining the Market Intelligence Mix ever since, to offer our clients a unique perspective on the consumer landscape ahead and a clear roadmap with which to navigate it.

So what goes into the market intelligence mix?

MARKET RESEARCH is not the only thing we do, but it is right at the core of our business. The vast range of primary research we carry out and commission is the bedrock of our market intelligence, creating data series we can assess incrementally over the long term to track trends and forecast the future.

MARKET ANALYSIS is the second key element of the market intelligence mix. Our specialist team of market analysts scours the globe for trade, industry and government data, which our statisticians then integrate into meaningful sizing models and future value forecasts for thousands of sectors worldwide.

PRODUCT INTELLIGENCE adds micro-level relevance to the macro context of our market analysis, bringing our clients real-world examples of the launches and goods that are driving the numbers.

COMPETITIVE INTELLIGENCE is the fourth pillar of our work, keeping our clients abreast of their rivals’ strategies, communications and results, to give them the understanding they need to choose the right response to gain or maintain that crucial competitive edge.

The magic happens when we pull them all together. Trend analysts, category specialists, systems developers, dedicated account teams and client servicing staff work together to provide our clients with understanding as well as knowledge.

That’s our Market Intelligence. That’s how we help businesses grow. It’s why we’re the leaders in it.
