Ashland has an exciting opportunity for an Account Manager – Specialty Additives to join our Ashland Industries Europe GmbH-Dubai Branch, for the Maghreb and West Africa (including Nigeria) region. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Commercial function. This position will report to the Regional Sales Manager. This role will remote based in Tunisia.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Generating sustainable and profitable growth for the Ashland Specialty Chemical Ingredients Business within the Business Unit Specialty Additives with focus on Paints and Coatings.

  • Delivers the business plan for the assigned territory and accounts and ensures timely new products introduction to achieve target of NPI sales

  • Proactively seeks information about Customers strategy and product launches to contributes his/her insights and guidelines to the regional strategy and account plan based on reliable market information and intelligence.

  • Presenting, promoting, and selling products to existing and new customers within a defined territory.

  • Developing strong partnerships with prospective customers, existing clients, and distributors to generate new leads and brand recognition within the respective region.

  • Sustain and grow the customer base in Maghreb and French speaking West Africa including Nigeria.

  • Provides accurate quarterly and monthly sales forecast

  • Provide technical support, pricing, trainings and workshops in French & English to customers and distributors.

  • Actively contribute to the organizational goals by taking initiative, executing on goals and focusing on performance and safety

  • Improve the organization capacity and capabilities through building collaborative relationships, optimizing diverse talent and utilizing positive communications and influence with others

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree preferred in chemical engineering/science or equivalent

  • 3-5 years of proven working regional sales experience in Maghreb and West Africa including Nigeria in Industrial chemical additives, especially in the Paint and Coating industry, with exposure to plants and lab.

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time into Maghreb, French speaking Africa and Nigeria.

  • In depth knowledge of the BU core business products: Rheology & foam control additives

  • Product Application – Coating & Energy & performance Specialties segments

  • Motivated sales professional

  • Sound experience within the chemical raw material’s industry

  • Strong drive and self-initiative as well as effective communication, presentation and negotiation skills

  • Must have written and speaking business skills in French and English

  • Demonstrated responsible and ethical behavior at all times

  • The ability to help the company drive greater value through understanding the business, making complex decisions and creating the new and different
