Account Manager / Sales Manager

Location: West Yorkshire (Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield, Carldale, Kirklees)

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000

Contract: Full-Time

About the Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Account Manager / Sales Manager to join an organisation operating within the employability and employment support sector.

This is a key role focused on building and managing strong employer relationships, identifying commercial opportunities and supporting the organisation to achieve positive employment outcomes.

The successful candidate will also manage and support Employment Liaison Officers, providing direction and ensuring a strong, consistent approach to employer engagement and account management.

The Role

As an Account Manager / Sales Manager, you will take responsibility for developing employer relationships, identifying new opportunities and supporting the delivery of employment outcomes. You will also provide leadership and support to the Employment Liaison Officer function.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and develop relationships with employers and key business stakeholders.
• Identify new employer engagement and business development opportunities.
• Maintain and develop existing employer accounts.
• Generate employment opportunities for participants.
• Manage and support Employment Liaison Officers.
• Provide clear direction, guidance and support to Employment Liaison Officers.
• Monitor employer engagement activity and account development.
• Work closely with internal teams to understand employer and recruitment requirements.
• Match employer opportunities with suitable participants and employment objectives.
• Develop long-term employer partnerships.
• Maintain accurate records of employer activity, opportunities and outcomes.
• Monitor performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Contribute towards employment and commercial objectives.
• Represent the organisation professionally when engaging with employers and external stakeholders.

About You

We are looking for someone with strong account management, sales, business development or employer engagement experience, ideally within the employability, employment support, recruitment, skills or related sectors.

You will be confident building relationships with employers, identifying opportunities and managing stakeholders. You will also have the ability to lead and support others, with a practical and commercially focused approach to achieving outcomes.

Essential

• Experience in account management, sales, business development or employer engagement.
• Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience of managing or supporting colleagues or a team.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• A proactive approach to identifying and developing opportunities.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work towards targets and measurable outcomes.

Desirable

• Experience within the Employability, Welfare-to-Work, Employment Support, Recruitment, Skills or Training sectors.
• Experience working with employers to create employment opportunities.
• Knowledge of government-funded employment or employability provision.
