The opportunity:
Key Account Management work focuses on medium-to-long-term planning and face-to-face selling of a variety of products, services and/or solutions across multiple lines of business for a defined group of existing clients including Developing medium-to-range sales plans and preparing strategies to protect, grow, and diversify the relationship with a defined group of existing customers. Identifying and managing interactions with assigned group of existing customers to identify cross/up and repeat sales opportunities. Resolving problems and ensuring customers receive high quality customer service.
As an individual contributor, the Account Manager leads all marketing and sales activities for Malaysia region, across the portfolio of Oil & Gas to ensure that Hitachi Energy substantially increases sales, margins, market share and customer satisfaction for the selected markets. The incumbent develops and implements a market-based strategy for sales. The role reports on the Local Sales Manager / Country Managing Director and based on Petaling Jaya.
How you’ll make an impact:
You will define and implement all sales and marketing activities but not limited to products, services and systems in alignment to the given strategy, ensure that the related product groups increase all relevant metrics in their selected market segments.
You will develop and implement a market-based approach which includes direct, third-party and project sales whilst building customer relationships with key stakeholders to educate, inform and solicit support for pursuing opportunities and convert them to orders.
You will be the champion or consultant internally within the local sales organizations (LSOs) to drive the strategies and increase the awareness of sales within the common sales organization. Act to facilitate the collaboration between the common sales organization and the resources within the BU specific sales (either in the country or Hub).
You will review customers' strategies and propose solutions in line with the best practices and the Hitachi Energy portfolio keeping in view the journey of the customer.
You will be responsible for ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:
Management consulting background as opposed to an engineering background.
Minimum 10 + years of experience in sales and account management within the energy sector. Track record of success in selling/negotiating strategic/complex customers facing projects.
Very good understanding of Electricity / Energy Infrastructure type assets development process, and of their contractual and financial structure.
Experience working for an Electricity Infrastructure developer preferred and finely honed project management skills, in addition to a keen sense of initiative, flexibility, and resourcefulness, well-developed communication and organizational skills and willingness to travel on business assignments.
Flexible with demonstrated experience in leading and managing change communications.
Fluent command of English, both written and spoken.
