💼 About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Account Manager to manage and develop relationships with existing merchants across high-risk industries.

You will act as the main point of contact for a portfolio of merchant accounts, ensuring strong client relationships, smooth day-to-day operations and long-term commercial growth.

The role combines relationship management, commercial account development and payment performance optimisation, working closely with internal teams to address merchant needs, identify growth opportunities and deliver a high standard of service.

🔍 Responsibilities

• Manage and develop long-term relationships with existing merchants across Forex, iGaming, betting, casino and other high-risk digital industries.
• Act as the primary point of contact for assigned merchant accounts, handling commercial discussions, operational enquiries and ongoing support.
• Monitor merchant payment performance, transaction volumes and account activity to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
• Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities to increase revenue from existing merchant relationships.
• Coordinate with internal teams, including Payments Operations, Technical Support, Risk and Compliance, to resolve merchant issues efficiently.
• Support merchant onboarding, integrations and the successful launch of payment solutions in collaboration with relevant teams.
• Conduct regular account reviews, understand merchants' evolving business needs and recommend suitable payment solutions.
• Manage escalations related to payment processing, transaction performance and operational challenges.
• Support commercial negotiations, contract renewals and pricing discussions with existing clients.
• Maintain accurate account records, monitor key performance indicators and provide regular updates on portfolio performance.
• Build strong relationships with merchant stakeholders, including payment managers, finance teams and senior decision-makers.

🎓 Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in Account Management, Key Account Management or Merchant Relationship Management within FinTech, payments, PSPs, acquiring or related financial services.
• Previous experience working with merchants in high-risk industries, such as Forex, iGaming, betting, casino, dating or other digital businesses.
• Good understanding of payment processing, merchant operations, open banking or alternative payment methods.
• Experience managing existing merchant portfolios, maintaining client relationships and identifying opportunities for account growth.
• Understanding of common payment challenges, including transaction acceptance, payment failures, fraud, chargebacks and compliance requirements.
• Ability to coordinate with technical, operational and compliance teams to resolve merchant-related issues.
• Strong commercial awareness, communication and relationship-building skills.
• Proactive, organised and solution-oriented approach to account management.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple merchant relationships in an international environment.
• Fluent English.
