About the role and team

In this role, you will be at the front lines of Uber’s grocery and retail expansion, acting as a strategic partner for high-stakes retail accounts and emerging brands. You aren't just managing a portfolio; you are co-creating the future of how people get almost anything delivered in minutes by navigating the complex intersection of retail operations, digital catalogs, and consumer demand across various regions.

The pace is relentless and the environment is often ambiguous as we scale this newer vertical within the Uber Eats ecosystem. You will need a high degree of ownership and grit to solve messy operational hurdles—like dark store deployment or SKU availability—while simultaneously influencing senior stakeholders to align on long-term growth strategies. If you thrive on seeing your strategic plans turn into real-world movement and are comfortable making decisions with imperfect data, this is where you’ll grow.

What you’ll do

  • Build and grow long-term partnerships by understanding what matters most to our grocery and retail customers, moving beyond transactional sales to deep strategic alignment.

  • Navigate internal complexity and shifting priorities across operations, merchandising, and catalog teams to unblock growth and unlock value for your clients.

  • Lead the development and execution of Joint Business Plans (JBPs) for major retail categories, balancing aggressive growth targets with the daily reality of merchant operations.

  • Adapt your approach based on real-time market dynamics and category-specific trends, identifying patterns in performance data to pivot strategies when a playbook doesn't exist.

  • Communicate clearly and negotiate confidently through tough business reviews, managing tension and influencing stakeholders without direct authority.

  • Track the granular details of invoicing, store-level metrics, and portfolio health while maintaining a high-level view of promotional success and category indicators.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience, ideally in enterprise partnerships, account management, business development, or consulting.

  • Proficiency in data tools, specifically Excel or Google Sheets, with a demonstrated ability to use data to inform business decisions.

  • Professional fluency in English.

  • Proven track record of managing external client relationships and leading business negotiations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to balance multiple merchant accounts while maintaining extreme attention to detail and swift execution in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience working within consumer goods (FMCG), retail, or tech-driven e-commerce environments.

  • Experience working in multicultural or remote environments with cross-functional teams across different geographies.

  • Proficiency in Salesforce and exposure to SQL or other data analysis tools.

  • Systems thinking mindset with a track record of identifying and improving inefficient operational processes.

Ready to Ride?

This isn't the kind of place where you follow a playbook — it's where you help write one. If you're driven by impact, energized by challenge, and ready to shape how the world moves — we'd love to hear from you.

You may be eligible for bonuses, equity, and other compensation, as well as a range of benefits. Explore our benefits.

About Uber

We are Uber. The go-getters. The kind of people who are relentless about our mission to help people go anywhere and get anything and earn their way. Movement is what we power. It’s our lifeblood. It runs through our veins. It’s what gets us out of bed each morning. It pushes us to constantly reimagine how we can move better. For you. For all the places you want to go. For all the things you want to get. For all the ways you want to earn. Across the entire world. In real time. At the incredible speed of now.

The idea for Uber was born on a snowy night in Paris in 2008, and ever since then our DNA of reimagination and reinvention carries on. We’ve grown into a global platform powering flexible earnings and the movement of people and things in ever expanding ways. We’ve gone from connecting rides on 4 wheels to 2 wheels to 18-wheel freight deliveries. From takeout meals to daily essentials to prescription drugs to just about anything you need at any time and earning your way. From drivers with background checks to real-time verification, safety is a top priority every single day. At Uber, the pursuit of reimagination is never finished, never stops, and is always just beginning.
