Garrets International is looking for an Account Manager in GMP, you are part of a fast-paced, dynamic team supporting all Garrets’ transactional business in a competitive global market. We act as an intermediate service provider, managing the entire order process end-to-end – from the moment a requisition arrives until the goods are delivered onboard.

Your goal is to combine excellent customer service with strong commercial acumen – ensuring we win orders at the best possible terms while delivering a high-quality service to vessels and clients worldwide

What you'll be doing:

  • Benchmark vendor prices, negotiate where needed, and ensure quotes are commercially attractive to maximize win rates and gross profit in line with KPIs.
  • Follow up on all quotes within the agreed timeframe to increase conversion from inquiry to confirmed order.
  • Manage the full order process, including readiness for supply, vendor coordination, and performance monitoring during deliveries.
  • Promote GMP’s services to existing and new customers, supporting sales growth through proactive calls, emails, and relationship building.
  • Ensure all orders comply with agreed credit terms before confirmation.

Customer Service & Problem Resolution

  • Build strong relationships with ship masters, chief stewards, and purchasers – being their trusted point of contact for all order-related matters.
  • Handle complaints and claims promptly, coordinating with vendors and internal teams to find solutions and prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure accuracy in documentation, pricing, and delivery notes to maintain client trust and compliance with Garrets’ standards.

Administration & Reporting

  • Maintain up-to-date account and order data in the GMP client portfolio and ERP systems.
  • Support invoice processing and resolve any disputes or mismatches in coordination with Accounts

Receivable/Payable teams.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency.

What we're looking for:

  • Minimum 3–4 years in order handling, procurement, or B2B customer service, ideally in the maritime, shipping, or supply chain sector.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance service quality and competitive pricing.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken). Additional languages are a plus.
  • Solid ERP system knowledge and advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Participate in weekend/public holiday duty rotation (with compensation) after training.
