Job Description

Your Role

We are seeking a proactive and commercially driven External Account Manager to manage and grow a portfolio of Water Treatment customers and products. The role focuses on maintaining existing business while driving sales margin growth through new customer acquisition and expanding product penetration within existing accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop existing customer accounts across the water treatment portfolio

  • Proactively identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities via a high level of outbound sales activity

  • Drive profitable growth through range selling and identifying new applications within customer sites

  • Develop a strong understanding of the water treatment product range and target markets

  • Build multi-level customer relationships, including purchasing, technical, and operational contacts

  • Handle objections effectively by using an inquisitive, needs-focused sales approach

  • Maintain the highest standards of administration, including:

    • Forward planning and scheduling of customer visits

    • Timely completion of follow-up actions

    • Accurate handling of customer requests

  • Maintain and update CRM records, tracking opportunities, projects, and pipeline conversion

  • Produce and submit monthly sales reports and pipeline updates

  • Work closely with the Sales Manager to assess and identify personal training and development needs

Key Relationships

  • Close collaboration with Water Treatment commercial and technical teams

  • Regular interaction with Internal and External Account Managers

  • Coordination with cross-functional teams to support customer delivery

Your Profile

  • Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to engage customers and close sales

  • Proven sales ability, with confidence in persuading and influencing decision-makers

  • Skilled in handling objections and resolving customer issues

  • Self-motivated and confident in taking ownership of workload and priorities

  • Comfortable working independently in a remote, field-based role

  • Knowledge of the water treatment industry is beneficial but not essential

  • Familiarity with CRM systems for managing customer data, sales pipelines, and opportunities
