Job Description

AEM (Advanced Environmental Monitoring) is the global leader in innovative mission critical weather, wildfire and water monitoring and intelligence solutions. We aim to be the world’s essential source for environmental insights – enabling decisive action and positive outcomes for our customers and their constituents. Our family of innovators offers world-class hydrometeorological technologies and services, including sensors, dataloggers, telemetry, and advanced analytics and software. Our technology and services empower the communities and organizations to survive – and thrive – in the face of escalating environmental risks.

The Account Manager drives commercial growth by mobilizing and supporting the full sales organization—promoting products, developing opportunities, coordinating stakeholder engagement, and ensuring leads are transferred, tracked, and advanced to close. This position carries a sales target achieved through collaboration with the broader sales force, distributors, direct customers, and internal teams. Initial focus will be on the groundwater product line, with the role expected to grow into broader integration with the wider AEM sales team over time.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive commercial growth by working through and alongside the entire U.S. sales force, distributors, and relevant internal teams
  • Maintain frequent, proactive communication with sales representatives to promote products, share product and market information, and identify opportunities for joint customer engagement
  • Act as a central point of contact for commercial, product, application, and process-related questions from the sales team, responding promptly and coordinating internal expertise when needed
  • Generate, qualify, and develop sales leads and opportunities, then transfer them to the appropriate salesperson, distributor, or account owner with clear context, ownership, and next steps
  • Track assigned and transferred leads in the Company’s CRM from initial identification through closure, ensuring timely follow up, accurate status updates, and clear accountability
  • Monitor opportunity progression, identify stalled or at-risk deals, and work with the responsible sales stakeholders to remove barriers and support successful completion
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with distributors, direct customers, end users, sales representatives, consultants, environmental agencies, municipalities, and water-management organizations
  • Deliver product presentations, commercial support, and training to strengthen the sales team’s confidence and ability to position solutions effectively
  • Collaborate with the Waterloo, Ontario back office and the Delft headquarters to support quoting, order processing, shipping, technical questions, marketing initiatives, and customer follow-up
  • Provide accurate pipeline reporting, forecasts, activity updates, and sales insights to the Global Sales and Marketing Manager
  • Travel throughout the United States as required to support sales meetings, customer visits, distributor development, trade shows, training, and opportunity advancement
  • Submit required documentation on a timely basis, including expense reports, travel itineraries, forecasts, and activity reports

This job description may not be inclusive of all assigned duties, responsibilities, or aspects of the job described, and may be amended at any time at the sole discretion of the Employer.

Requirements
  • Three to five years of commercial experience in sales, business development, account management, channel support, sales enablement, or a closely related role is required
  • Demonstrated experience working with multiple stakeholders and coordinating activity across sales teams, distributors, customers, and internal functions
  • Proven ability to communicate frequently and effectively with a geographically dispersed sales organization
  • Experience generating, qualifying, transferring, and tracking leads and opportunities through a CRM system
  • Strong commercial judgment, follow-through, and organizational discipline, with the ability to manage multiple opportunities and stakeholder requests simultaneously
  • Confident presentation and product-promotion skills, with the ability to explain value propositions clearly and adapt the message to different audiences
  • Strong written and verbal communication, reporting, forecasting, and relationship-management skills
  • A collaborative, service-oriented approach combined with the persistence and accountability required to deliver a demanding sales target
  • Ability to work independently from a home office while remaining highly connected to the broader commercial team
  • Experience in environmental monitoring, water management, instrumentation, technical products, or environmental consulting is preferred.

Performance Measures:

  • Achieve the assigned national sales target by effectively leveraging the full U.S. sales organization
  • Increase the number, quality, and conversion rate of qualified leads and commercial opportunities
  • Ensure transferred leads are accepted, actively managed, accurately tracked, and brought to a clear outcome
  • Improve sales-team engagement, product knowledge, responsiveness, and confidence in positioning solutions
  • Maintain a reliable, current, and transparent national pipeline and forecast in the Company’s CRM
  • Strengthen market presence and distributor effectiveness across the United States.
