As an NI Strategic Account Manager (AM) supporting the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), you represent a respected industry brand with highly differentiated products and extensive customer support capabilities. In this role, you will grow your business acumen and strategic sales capabilities while consulting with some of the nation's most advanced research and engineering organizations.

This position is primarily focused on Sandia National Laboratories and Los Alamos National Laboratory and serves as a key member of a larger cross-functional NNSA account team. Success in this role requires close collaboration with fellow Account Managers, Field Applications Engineers (FAEs), Business Unit leaders, Customer Success, Technical Support, and strategic partners to drive customer outcomes and sustainable growth across the NNSA portfolio.

An AM is responsible for developing and executing account strategies for assigned accounts while contributing to broader NNSA account initiatives. You will work closely with dedicated technical and sales resources to identify customer challenges, align NI's capabilities with mission objectives, and drive adoption of NI hardware, software, and services within strategic programs.

A successful AM helps establish NI as a trusted advisor and long-term partner to NNSA customers. AMs effectively balance account development, relationship management, strategic opportunity creation, and cross-functional team leadership to maximize long-term revenue growth and customer success. This role requires leading through influence, coordinating resources across multiple organizations, and building trusted relationships with technical and executive stakeholders.

You will regularly apply your technical knowledge to consult with customer engineers, scientists, program managers, and laboratory leadership to understand their mission requirements and recommend NI solutions that accelerate innovation, improve productivity, and reduce risk.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans that consistently deliver exceptional account growth and strengthen NI's position within Sandia National Laboratories and Los Alamos National Laboratory.
  • Collaborate as part of a larger NNSA account team to develop coordinated customer engagement strategies and drive execution across multiple stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with engineers, scientists, program managers, procurement teams, and executive leadership within assigned accounts.
  • Drive demand generation and opportunity development through effective account planning, customer engagement, technical consultation, and executive alignment.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to identify, prioritize, and pursue strategic growth opportunities aligned to customer mission objectives.
  • Partner with NI Business Units, Field Applications Engineers, Customer Success, and strategic partners to maximize serviceable opportunities and increase market penetration.
  • Develop trusted advisor relationships by understanding customer technical roadmaps, funding priorities, organizational initiatives, and long-term strategic objectives.
  • Coordinate and influence internal and external stakeholders to achieve shared objectives and deliver measurable customer outcomes.
  • Coach, develop, and recognize the contributions of team members while fostering a collaborative, high-performance team environment.
  • Ensure customers receive exceptional support and engagement that results in long-term partnerships, repeat business, and sustained growth.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain customer-required site access, as applicable.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active DOE clearance is required
  • Residence in Albuquerque, Santa Fe, or the surrounding New Mexico area, or willingness to relocate.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to travel as required to customer sites and company meetings.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Experience selling to or supporting U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), National Laboratories, NNSA, federal government, aerospace & defense, or research-focused organizations.
  • 5+ years of experience in business-to-business high-tech sales, engineering, scientific instrumentation, automated test, or related technical roles.
    Demonstrated success managing strategic accounts and delivering consistent year-over-year revenue growth.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, business units, and technical resources.
  • Experience selling solutions involving hardware, software, services, and custom engineering engagements.
  • Experience engaging engineering leadership, program managers, directors, and executive stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline preferred.
  • Hands-on knowledge of NI hardware and software platforms, including LabVIEW, PXI, CompactDAQ, RF, automated test, or data acquisition solutions.
  • Experience supporting long sales cycles, government procurement processes, and complex technical buying environments.
