The C&I Partnerships and Growth team sits within the Operations group and is responsible for the safe, compliant delivery of smart metering solutions for commercial and industrial customers. The team manages major customer accounts, broker and consultant channels, business development, sales support and tender activity, driving customer growth through strong relationships and operational excellence.

Reporting to the Head of C&I Partnerships and Growth, the Account Manager is responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of C&I customers, delivering exceptional service and supporting customer retention and growth. Working closely with operational, commercial, finance and sales teams, the role focuses on strengthening customer relationships, resolving issues and contributing to the ongoing performance and growth of the business. As the function evolves, the role may also support broader customer, commercial and operational initiatives across the team.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage a portfolio of Commercial & Industrial (C&I) customer accounts, delivering responsive service, resolving issues and acting as the primary relationship owner.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, brokers, consultants and other key stakeholders to support customer satisfaction, retention and growth.
  • Lead customer onboarding, transitions, renewals, contract amendments and service delivery activities, ensuring commitments are met and outcomes achieved.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to retain, expand and grow customer accounts, contributing to new business, revenue growth and portfolio performance.
  • Develop account plans, provide performance reporting and deliver customer insights to support decision-making and the broader C&I growth strategy.
  • Support tender responses, customer proposals and commercial opportunities in collaboration with business development, sales support and commercial teams.
  • Maintain accurate customer, contract, pipeline and account activity records within CRM and business systems, and contribute to reporting requirements.
  • Contribute to process, system and customer experience improvements that enhance service delivery, scalability and operational performance.
  • Collaborate effectively with operational, finance, commercial and support teams to deliver customer outcomes and resolve complex issues.
  • Perform all activities in accordance with Intellihub policies, safety standards, regulatory obligations and expected standards of professional conduct.

Qualifications

You are a customer-focused and commercially minded account management professional who can balance service delivery, relationship management, operational follow-through and growth outcomes. You are comfortable working with complex customer needs, multiple internal stakeholders and a regulated energy environment.

Essential Skills/Experience

  • Demonstrated experience managing customer relationships in an account management, customer success, portfolio management or related commercial role.
  • Experience in the energy, utilities, metering or a similarly regulated environment is highly regarded.
  • Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to resolve issues, manage expectations and maintain professional relationships.
  • Commercial acumen and ability to identify growth, retention and account expansion opportunities.
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to use data, reporting and business systems to manage account activity and customer performance updates.
  • High level of initiative, judgement and prioritisation, including the ability to work to tight deadlines and manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to learn new systems, processes and technical service offerings quickly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Current driver licence, with flexibility to travel intrastate and interstate as required and work outside standard hours to meet business needs.

Desirable Skills/Experience

  • Knowledge of the Australian metering industry, C&I customers, market processes or NEM-related frameworks.
  • Experience supporting tender submissions, customer proposals or competitive bid activity.
  • Experience working with brokers, consultants, energy advisory partners or multi-site commercial customers.
  • Tertiary and/or technical qualifications in Business, Commerce, Energy, Engineering or a related discipline.
