Description & Requirements

Being in a business support role at Australia Post means helping our people deliver for every Australian. Just like our Posties, you’re still the people behind every parcel. Whatever your team or role, you’re helping grow our people, grow our business and making a lasting impact on the Australian community. You’ll find a culture of connection in our great people and the flexibility to balance work with life outside of it.

About the opportunity

Australia Post is powering the future of eCommerce, and medium businesses are where the growth story really comes alive. Australians spent $21.9 billion online in a single quarter, marketplaces are growing 17% year on year, and growing businesses need a delivery partner who can scale with them. As Account Manager, Medium Business, you'll be the single point of accountability for a portfolio of 30 to 50 medium business customers within your local market. Success looks like retained revenue, growing accounts, strong senior relationships and being the trusted partner customers lean on as they grow. You'll report to a Sales Manager and work alongside Solutions, Product, Pricing, Credit and Segment Development teams to help your customers send smarter and grow faster.

You'll also

Sit with your customers as they grow and scale, building account plans that protect revenue, unlock cross-sell and solve the operational problems that hold growing businesses back.
Be the trusted partner and single point of contact across onboarding, service performance, renewals, price reviews and everyday problem solving.
Introduce solutions that help customers compete, from our expanding Parcel Locker network to Rendr, our same day and on demand delivery platform now reaching almost 90% of the population.
Bring the right Australia Post specialists into the room early, spotting issues before they escalate and turning plans into delivery for your customers.

About you

You're a genuine relationship builder who loves helping businesses grow. You're commercially sharp, curious and energised by face to face selling and long term partnerships. You listen more than you tell, you earn trust with senior decision makers, and you turn everyday conversations into growth opportunities. You're adaptable and resilient through change, action oriented when a customer needs a quick win, and motivated by seeing your customers succeed. You'll thrive on owning a portfolio, being the person customers call, and playing a real part in powering eCommerce for growing Australian businesses.

You'll also

Bring a strong track record in face to face B2B account management or sales, growing and retaining a portfolio of medium business customers and exceeding sales targets.
Freight, parcel, logistics or supply chain experience is highly preferred, as it helps you speak your customers' language from day one.
Bring commercial and analytical skills, drawing insights from conversations and performance data to shape solutions, business cases and renewals.

What else is in it for you?

You'll join Australia Post at the moment we're pulling ahead as the country's leading parcel delivery partner. You'll have the scale, brand, network and data to make a real difference for growing businesses, powered by insights from our eCommerce Report and quarterly updates that few competitors can match. You'll get to be a true partner to your customers, helping them scale with confidence through solutions like lockers and same day delivery through Rendr. You'll also be backed by serious investment in the future, including our new 78,000sqm Brisbane Airport facility that processes up to 250,000 parcels a day and created nearly 500 jobs, supporting Queensland's booming online market where shoppers spent $17.8 billion last year. This is your chance to build lasting relationships, help businesses grow and be an integral part of powering eCommerce in Australia.

All walks, one route

It takes a lot of us to deliver for every Australian – and it’s important to us that our people behind the parcels reflect the people receiving them. We come from all walks. Different backgrounds, different ages, different genders, different sexualities and different abilities, but we all believe in the same purpose.

We welcome people all ages, genders and backgrounds – including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disability, LGBTQIA+ communities, and refugees. We’re a Disability Confident Recruiter, committed to making our hiring process and workplace inclusive and barrier-free. We’re also working hard to remove bias and build a gender-equitable experience for everyone who joins us. If you’ve got questions about accessibility, reach out to our Diversity & Inclusion team at inclusivecareers@auspost.com.au or on 03 8737 9415.
