Account Manager
Location: Mesquite, TX
Employment Type: Full-Time
The Security Account Manager is responsible for overseeing all security operations within an assigned school district. This role serves as the primary point of contact between the client, security personnel, and company leadership to ensure exceptional service delivery, contract compliance, and a safe learning environment for students, staff, and visitors.
The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong communication, customer service, and operational management skills who can effectively manage personnel, address client concerns, and maintain high standards of security performance.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary liaison between the school district and the security company.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with district administrators, campus leadership, and key stakeholders.
- Conduct regular site visits and client meetings to ensure satisfaction and address concerns promptly.
- Respond to client requests, incidents, and operational needs in a timely and professional manner.
Operations Management
- Oversee daily security operations across multiple campuses and district facilities.
- Ensure all posts are staffed and schedules are maintained to meet contract requirements.
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, and performance of security personnel.
- Conduct routine inspections and audits to ensure compliance with company policies and client expectations.
- Coordinate staffing plans for special events, athletic events, graduations, and emergency situations.
Texas schools follow comprehensive safety guidelines that include emergency planning, safety committees, multi-hazard drills, and accommodations for students with disabilities.
Personnel Leadership
- Recruit, onboard, train, and mentor security officers and supervisors.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching to improve employee performance.
- Address employee relations issues, corrective actions, and disciplinary matters when necessary.
- Foster a positive team culture focused on professionalism, accountability, and customer service.
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure all personnel maintain required licenses, certifications, and training.
- Complete incident reports, operational reports, and client documentation accurately and on time.
- Monitor compliance with district policies, state regulations, and company standards.
- Assist with investigations involving security incidents, safety concerns, or employee matters.
Emergency Response
- Serve as a key point of contact during emergencies and critical incidents.
- Coordinate response efforts with school administration, law enforcement, and emergency personnel as needed.
- Support district safety initiatives and emergency preparedness planning.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of security, law enforcement, military, or related experience.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory or management experience.
- Valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when required.
Preferred
- Experience managing security operations within K-12 schools or educational environments.
- Texas Level III Security License or ability to obtain.
- Experience with scheduling, workforce management, and client account management.
- Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk extensive school campuses and facilities.
- Ability to stand, bend, and move throughout shifts as needed.
- Ability to respond quickly during emergencies.
Licensing Requirements
In Texas, you cannot legally work as an armed security officer without a Level III commissioned security officer license. This ensures that all armed personnel meet strict training, background, and employer oversight requirements, maintaining safety and compliance under Texas Occupations Code Chapter 1702.
