Job Description

Account Manager

Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • Drivers License Code 08
  • Sales-related courses beneficial
  • Tertiary/Sales/Marketing Qualifications beneficial
  • At least 3-5 years experience in sales or customer-facing/engagement and a proven track record within a sales/target-driven environment
  • Experience in the logistics industry is beneficial

Responsibilities:

  • Relationship Building
  • Meet with customers according to the approved call cycle
  • Identify new distribution opportunities and as a result increase revenue
  • Assist with the transition process by gathering and updating client information in the CRM system
  • Reporting
  • Report to the Sales/Retention Manager on matters such as:
    o Trends monthly
    o Customer reactions and complaints daily
    o Competitor activity monthly
    o Amber/Red Alerts Weekly
    o Lost Business monthly
    o Down trade Accounts monthly
    o Debtors days within terms weekly
    o Account KPIs against SLA monthly
    o Rate increase monitoring monthly
    o Complete CRM daily
  • Attend and contribute to sales meetings weekly
  • Complete and submit weekly sales report before the deadline (CRM & Share Drive)
  • Draft and analyze monthly KPI reports and present to clients with recommendations Top 10 clients monthly following 10 clients every two months and small customers quarterly.
  • Down Trade and zero trade clients to be identified monthly feedback and action plan to be presented to the direct manager.
