Routewareisseekinga motivated and results-driven Account Executive to join our UK sales team. In this role, you will focus exclusively on sellingRouteware'ssoftware and technology solutions toLocal Authorities and private waste haulersthroughout the United Kingdom.The ideal candidate is a consultative sales professional who enjoys building relationships withcustomers and prospects, understanding operational challenges, and delivering technology solutions that create measurable value. This position requires regular travel throughout the UK to meet with customers, attend industry events, conduct presentations, and build long-term partnerships.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute a territory sales plan focused onacquiringnew municipaland private contractorcustomers across the UK.
- Build relationships with local authority stakeholders, including Waste Services Managers, Environmental Services Leaders, Operational Managers, Procurement Teams,ITand Executive Leadership.
- Generate and manage a pipeline of qualified opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, events, and inbound leads.
- Lead the full sales cycle frominitialoutreach through contract negotiation and close.
- Conduct in-person and virtual presentations, product demonstrations, and discovery meetings.
- Understand customer operational challenges and alignRoutewaresolutions to their business needs.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders including Product, Customer Success, Professional Services, and Executive Leadership throughout the sales process.
- Prepare proposals, respond to procurement requests, and support tender submissions.
- Maintainaccurateforecasting, opportunity tracking, and pipeline management within CRM systems.
- RepresentRoutewareat industry conferences, trade shows, and municipal events.
- Travel regularly throughout the UK to support customer meetings and business development activities.
REQUIREMENTS
- Demonstrated success in a business development, Account Executive, or field sales role.
- Experience selling software, SaaS, technology, or operational solutions to public sector organisations, municipalities, local authorities, or related industries preferred.
- Proven ability to manage complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders.
- Strong consultative selling, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Experience using CRM platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar tools.
- Full UK driving licencerequired.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout the United Kingdom.
- Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience selling into local government or municipal organizations.
- Knowledge of waste management, environmental services, public works, fleet operations, or related industries.
- Experience working with public sector procurement processes and tenders.
