The Company: Why mute-labs?

mute-labs is the EU market leader in acoustic phone booths, with more than 20,000 cabins sold and counting. We are self-funded, profitable since day one, and have no investors to answer to and no exit to chase. What we do have is a steep growth curve in revenue, a product made in Germany, and a genuine mission: giving the modern office some quiet back.

We have built a strong direct and dealer business on the back of inbound demand and word of mouth. What we have not built yet is a real outbound engine for winning bigger accounts on purpose, from ambitious growth companies to household names like Volkswagen, adidas, IKEA, Red Bull, or Axel Springer, who already trust us today. That gap is this role, and how far into that world you grow is largely up to you.

Outbound is not a new idea for us. We have piloted it in smaller pockets already, testing signal-based outreach and structured sequences with real results. What has been missing is someone to own this as a dedicated motion for bigger accounts rather than a side project squeezed in between other things. That is why we are building this out as a new department and you’d be joining a small, yet focussed team as one of the first hires.

The Role: Build the Pipeline AND the Channel

This is a founding position. You are not stepping into an existing sales org with a quota handed down from three reps before you. You are the first one in the building. What you build, and how you build it, is largely up to you and your team, and you can grow the size and ambition of your target accounts as you find your footing.

• Green Field, Full Ownership: Build your own pipeline from scratch. There is no inherited book of business and no recycled leads. The customer base you build is yours, and so is the revenue you generate from it.
• Your Stack, Your Sequences: Clay, Reply.io, LinkedIn Premium, and Aircall are all at your disposal. You design your own outreach sequences, run your own cold calling campaigns, and decide how the machine works. Nobody hands you a script.
• Segment Strategy, Together: You understand the market as well as anyone. Rather than being handed a target list from above, you and your manager will decide together which segments and account types are worth focusing on.
• Comp That Rewards More Than the First Deal: An uncapped bonus with a kicker for overperformance. Returning customers you bring in keep feeding your comp over time, not just the initial close. Landing an account well is worth more than landing it once.
• A Brand That Opens Doors: You are not cold-calling on behalf of an unknown startup. mute-labs is an established, well-regarded market leader with a reference list that already includes some of the biggest names in German and European business. That credibility is yours to use from day one.
• A seasoned team to back you up: Your manager has built and run outbound and enterprise sales hands-on, from cold pipeline to six-figure closes, and will work closely with you from day one, coaching, supporting, and training wherever it's actually needed rather than just checking in on numbers.

Is This You?

• The Go-Getter: You do not wait to be told what to do next. You get on your feet quickly, figure out the shape of the problem, and start moving before anyone has to push you.
• Sales Experience: You have carried a full sales cycle before, from first contact to signed contract, and know how to keep a deal moving without needing someone else to close it for you. You do not need to have sold into large enterprises already, that is something you will grow into here.
• Stakeholder Management: You know how to work a deal with more than one person in the room, decision-makers, influencers, and budget holders, and you can keep several of those relationships moving in parallel without losing the thread.
• Comfortable with Ambiguity: There is no existing playbook to inherit here. You will help write it. If you need every process defined for you before you can start, this is not the role.
• Fluent in German and English: Most of your target accounts are DACH-based, though the reference list extends across the EU. Strong German is expected; English is the internal working language.

Our Hiring Process

1. The Spark: A short intro call with our People team to check for basic fit.
2. The deepdive: A conversation with your future manager Patrick about your experience, how you build your pipeline and how you close. Here you’ll also meet the rest of the team.
3. The Live Action: A live discovery or negotiation role-play based on a realistic enterprise scenario. No prep deck, just show us how you actually work a deal.
4. The Vision: A final conversation with Leah, Head of Sales as well as Franziskus, Managing Director, on the strategic mandate behind this role and where it can go from here.
