Our client, a leading commercial flooring contractor based in San Diego, is seeking a results-driven Account Executive This hybrid role combines sales and project management, providing an opportunity to take ownership of client relationships, drive revenue growth, and manage projects from pre-construction through completion. You will work out of the San Diego headquarters, managing relationships with general contractors and end users across the region, while overseeing successful project execution.
Duties & Responsibilities
Business Development / Sales
Identify and pursue new client opportunities across general contractors and end users
Maintain a strong presence at industry events and associations
Pre-Construction & Planning
Conduct job site visits to assess project scope, take measurements, and identify logistical challenges
Create take-offs and detailed estimates for labor, materials, and preparation requirements
Project Management & Execution
Oversee projects from contract award to completion, managing schedules, budgets, and installation quality
Coordinate with in-house installation teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and execution
Conduct regular site visits to proactively resolve field issues and verify progress
Track and manage job costing, billing, and change orders throughout the project lifecycle
Identify risks and inefficiencies, implementing corrective actions and process improvements
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience
Proven experience in commercial construction sales, estimating, or project management, preferably within the flooring industry (5+ years preferred)
Skills & Knowledge
Strong project planning and organizational skills
Ability to read plans/specs and use digital take-off and estimating tools
Excellent communication and negotiation skills with internal teams and external clients
