
The Account Executive – Building Automation Solutions is responsible for developing, managing, and closing building automation opportunities across consulting engineering channels, construction projects, and key client accounts. This role combines technical credibility in Building Automation Systems (BAS) with a disciplined, relationship-driven sales approach. Success means influencing design early, securing profitable work, and ensuring smooth transition from sales to execution.
The successful candidate will act as a trusted technical and commercial partner to consulting engineers, owners, and internal delivery teams, while consistently meeting or exceeding assigned sales targets.

Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and manage a pipeline of building automation opportunities across consulting engineers, construction projects, and key end users
Build and maintain strong relationships with consulting engineers to influence specifications, design intent, and system approach
Identify and pursue opportunities within active construction, retrofit, and modernization projects
Lead opportunities from initial identification through estimating, proposal development, negotiation, and close
Provide technical leadership in building automation systems, including system architecture, controls strategies, and system integration
Lead and collaborate with estimating teams on scope definition, pricing strategy, risk assessment, and margin management
Support preliminary system design, value engineering, and constructability reviews to ensure practical and executable solutions
Act as the primary point of contact for clients and consultants, translating requirements into clear technical and commercial proposals
Collaborate closely with internal engineering, estimating, and operations teams to ensure smooth handoff from sales to execution
Accurately forecast opportunities and consistently work toward achieving sales targets and quotas
Must Haves
5+ years of experience selling building automation or building controls solutions
Strong technical background in BAS, including controls hardware, software, networking, and system integration
Proven experience working with consulting engineers and construction project teams
Demonstrated success in estimating, proposal development, and closing complex technical opportunities
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Disciplined approach to opportunity management, forecasting, and sales execution
Nice to Haves
Post-secondary education in engineering, technology, or a related field
Experience with HVAC systems, BACnet, and enterprise-level BAS architectures
Exposure to retrofit and modernization-focused automation projects

Expected annual compensation: $100,000 – $120,000.
