Job Description

The Account Executive (AE) serves as the strategic business leader and trusted advisor for Microsoft’s automotive industry customers. This role is responsible for driving business growth, accelerating AI and cloud adoption, and developing long-term partnerships with leading automotive manufacturers, mobility providers, and intelligent transportation companies. The AE owns the overall customer strategy, executive relationships, and business outcomes while orchestrating cross-functional Microsoft and partner resources to support customers' digital transformation and innovation journeys.



Responsibilities

Customer Strategy & Executive Engagement

  • Develop and execute comprehensive account strategies aligned with customers' business priorities, technology roadmaps, and transformation objectives.
  • Build trusted relationships with C-level executives and key business stakeholders, including CEOs, CIOs, CTOs, CDOs, and innovation leaders.
  • Act as a strategic advisor by bringing industry insights, AI innovation, and digital transformation best practices to customers.

Business Growth & Revenue Accountability

  • Own and deliver against revenue, consumption, market share, and strategic growth targets.
  • Identify, develop, and close high-value opportunities across Azure, AI, Data, Security, Modern Work, and Industry Solutions.
  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline while driving predictable business performance and forecast accuracy.

Industry Leadership & Account Orchestration

  • Lead the account v-team and coordinate resources across ATS, CSAM, Solution Specialists, Solution Engineers, Commercial Executives, Customer Success, and Partners.
  • Drive customer planning, executive business reviews, and strategic account governance.
  • Ensure effective execution across all stages of the customer lifecycle.

Automotive Industry Transformation

  • Partner with automotive customers to accelerate software-defined vehicle (SDV), connected vehicle, autonomous driving, intelligent manufacturing, digital engineering, and AI transformation initiatives.
  • Help customers leverage Microsoft Cloud and AI capabilities to improve innovation speed, operational efficiency, product development, and business competitiveness.
  • Support customers' cloud migration, AI adoption, data platform modernization, and ecosystem collaboration strategies.

Customer Success & Long-Term Value Realization

  • Ensure successful realization of customer business outcomes and investment value.
  • Drive customer satisfaction, retention, strategic partnerships, and long-term account growth.
  • Collaborate closely with Customer Success teams to maximize solution adoption and business impact.



Qualifications

Experience

  • 8+ years of enterprise sales, account management, business development, or consulting experience.
  • Proven track record of managing strategic enterprise accounts and delivering business growth.
  • Experience leading complex digital transformation, cloud, AI, or technology solution sales engagements.
  • Automotive industry experience is highly preferred, including OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, intelligent mobility companies, autonomous driving providers, EV manufacturers, or related ecosystems.

Industry & Business Acumen

  • Deep understanding of trends shaping the automotive industry, including electrification, intelligent vehicles, autonomous driving, software-defined vehicles, AI, and digital manufacturing.
  • Ability to connect business challenges with technology-driven solutions and measurable business outcomes.
  • Strong strategic thinking and commercial insight.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence diverse virtual teams without direct authority.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, executive engagement, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Strong program orchestration and resource management capabilities.

Communication & Executive Presence

  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and executive engagement skills.
  • Proven ability to engage senior business and technology decision-makers.
  • Strong consultative selling, value-based selling, and solution-selling capabilities.
