Job Description

Most early-career roles promise growth. This one is built around it!

You'll work directly with Senior Executives from week one, supporting real client conversations, learning how relationships are built, deals are closed, and new accounts are acquired and developed, and learning what it actually takes to win business. You'll get structured training and hands-on coaching as standard.

The role itself is fast paced. You'll be spotting opportunities, reaching out to potential clients, and helping turn conversations into something tangible. It suits someone who reads a room quickly, gets a kick out of solving medium to complex problems before they're asked to, and genuinely enjoys building relationships.

You don't have to have a sales background. We're not looking for someone who already knows it all…we're looking for someone sharp enough to pick it up fast, and hungry enough to want to.

If you’ve got 2 - 3 years’ experience, whether as a consultant, in sales/ business development (services or consulting-led), as a lawyer, an engagement manager, or in partnership management, and you’re the kind of person others turn to for solutions and who’s great at building relationships at all levels, this role is worth your time.

Company Profile

Cognia seamlessly extends corporates, banks and law firms’ legal capability to deliver sustainable outcomes. Our goal is to connect the legal sector, moving it from a siloed approach to integrated partnerships. We help in-house legal teams by bringing simplicity to complex matters and replacing broken procedures with efficient processes.

Cognia is a Chambers-ranked law company which integrates how legal services are provided so our team, partners, clients and communities thrive together with people at the heart of what we do. We encourage our people to bring their whole self to work and focus on enabling them to realise their full potential.

Role Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of your portfolio of new business, working an account list, converting inbound leads with intent, and proactively hunting high-value prospects.
  • Build deep, trusted relationships with decision-makers and influencers, understanding what matters most to them and why, aligning Cognia’s solutions directly to what they're trying to solve.
  • Drive the entire client journey end-to-end, from the first conversation through to contract, onboarding, expansion, and renewal. · Achieve and exceed revenue goals and sales KPIs consistently.
  • Work seamlessly across the business to shape the right solution for each client. Partner closely with senior executives, legal engineers, solution architects, and service delivery teams to stay informed of internal development, market shifts, the latest advances in AI, and shape solutions that are tailored to our clients' unique goals.
  • Help build our sales playbook, capturing what works, transforming our wins into repeatable, scalable practices across client accounts.
  • Rapidly assimilate and evaluate client needs, crafting compelling proposals and presentations that showcase the power of partnering with Cognia.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's or master's degree from a Top University, with a 2:1 or above.
  • 2 – 3 year’s experience as a consultant, sales/business development (services or consulting-led), lawyer, engagement manager or partnership manager.
  • You’re driven by hitting a goal, you like winning, progress, and you naturally push things forward.
  • A natural relationship-builder who reads a room quickly, adapts on the spot, and makes people feel at ease.
  • Clear, confident communicator, whether that's on a call, meeting, or in writing.
  • Comfortable designing solutions to problems.
  • Self-started who takes initiative without being asked and follows through without being chased.
  • Full right to work in the UK with no requirement for visa sponsorship.
