The Role:
As an Account Director, you are a strategic partner who works alongside our strategy team to translate client vision into meaningful consumer journeys. You have proven experience managing teams, fostering deep client relationships, and possess strong business acumen.
Your responsibilities go far beyond project management. You are expected to deeply understand our clients’ businesses, and B2B and B2C marketing. You are a curious researcher by nature, with a passion for continuous learning. You possess deep CRM experience, with a specific focus on CRM strategy, planning, and journey development.
Rather than force-fitting problems into existing agency processes, you are an adaptable, creative problem solver who designs bespoke solutions to match unique client challenges. Additionally, you bring an openness and curiosity toward how emerging technologies, and AI, can enhance our work and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Partnership & Business Acumen
● Dive deep into the client’s industry, business model, and competitors. Actively research market trends to proactively bring new ideas to the table.
● Drive end-to-end thinking for consumer journeys. Map out and strategize CRM frameworks that drive engagement and retention.
Client & Relationship Management
● Serve as a trusted advisor to our clients, building relationships by understanding their business and priorities.
● Approach client challenges with flexibility. Diagnose problems accurately and develop tailored solutions rather than relying on rigid, pre-existing processes.
Project Oversight
● Lead cross-functional teams (Creative, Strategy, Media, and Production) to deliver high-quality work on time and on budget.
● Maintain a holistic view of projects from initial brief through to final reporting, ensuring strategic integrity is maintained at every step.
● Demonstrate experience and curiosity toward new tools and methodologies, including AI, to improve workflows and campaign outcomes.
Team Leadership & Mentorship
● Guide, train, and support the professional development of junior account team members.
● Maintain a positive, collaborative environment, building strong rapport with internal creative, production, media and strategy teams.
Financial Management
● Oversee client budgets, track hours, and manage project profitability, fostering financial acumen both internally and in the interest of the client.
Skills and Experience:
● Experience: 8+ years of advertising/marketing agency experience in account management, with a track record of leading high-profile accounts.
● CRM Strategy Expertise: Proven experience in CRM strategy and journey mapping. (Familiarity/acumen with Salesforce is highly beneficial, though hands-on execution experience is not required).
● Business Acumen: Strong commercial awareness and B2B and B2C experience.
● Solution-Oriented Mindset: A track record of developing custom solutions to match unique problems.
● Tech Curiosity: An active curiosity about modern marketing technologies, including a willingness to explore and adopt AI tools.
● Storytelling & Presentation: An engaging, influential presenter who can tell a cohesive story, whether presenting a CRM strategy or a creative concept.
● Leadership: Strong mentorship skills, with a calm, guiding demeanor when navigating challenges and knowing when to escalate issues.
● Adaptability: The ability to shift focus quickly in a fast-paced agency environment without losing sight of the end goal.
The base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from CA$65,000 to CA$115,000. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications.
