About the Role
This position is accountable for providing an array of special services to new and existing accounts to maximize the potential for new sales, retention, and expansion of business relationships. The Account Consultant II in the midsize and 100+ segments will be responsible for client facing interactions critical to supporting the account management and relationships.
What You'll Do
Key member of account management team in its efforts to sell new business, inclusive of ancillary products, as well as service, convert, and add additional lines of business to existing accounts and to convert accounts to managed care.
Create and facilitate client presentations and meetings, utilizing analysis of current client trends and plan design offerings.
Analyze data in order to recommend changes and cost saving designs incorporating medical management programs.
Responds timely and pro-actively to account or broker telephone inquiries by contacting the appropriate operating areas throughout the enterprise.
Must build strong internal and external relationships.
Resolves complex service issues, and answers product and benefits questions.
Assists in processing paperwork relating to the prospecting, enrollment, and/or termination of accounts.
Maintains the accuracy of the account profile and group administration through data updates.
Facilitates and coordinates the timely implementation of new groups and conversions.
Analyzes inter-departmental problems and makes recommendations for resolutions.
Assists in the procurement of information from groups to complete and verify sale documentation.
Responsible for reporting requests and confirming data accuracy.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.
What You Bring
Education/Experience:
Minimum Highschool diploma or GED
Prefers a bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
Requires a minimum of 3 years Group, Life, or Health Insurance experience.
Requires a candidate with a New Jersey State Health/Life License or the ability to procure one within three (3) months of employment.
Must be proficient and possess advanced skills in the use of personal computers and supporting software in a Windows based environment, including MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Lotus Notes; Should be knowledgeable in the use of intranet and internet applications.
Knowledge of Group Health products lines including Managed Care. Prefers knowledge of Horizon BCBSNJ products and underwriting policies.

Travel throughout the US required for National Account business. Other segments require travel predominantly within NJ but possibly to limited areas within the US.

Salary Range:
$70,500 - $94,395
This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. This range has been created in good faith based on information known to Horizon at the time of posting. Compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case.
